On October 20, 2021 we hired ****** from Made Right Renos to install a new prehung exterior door on our home. When the install was done, the trim was lined up horribly and cracked in 2 places from his screws being put in too tight. He claimed that the lack of the miter cuts lining up was because it came incorrectly cut and that we could just fill the gaps with wood filler. On Dec 15th we contacted ****** as our door was not closing, it seemed to not fit anymore. ****** came out and made some adjustments and advised us that he had fixed it by adding a couple s**** to the casing. On Dec 26, 2021 the door started to get worse again and continually got worse there after. Having just had ****** out to fix the door, we assumed that this was a product issue and contacted ********** where the door was purchased from. After some time and emails back and forth, they filed a warranty claim. The warranty company had a inspector come to our home on Jan 12 to look at the door and see what was going on. He advised that the door was installed incorrectly for many reasons and not up to code. The whole unit would need to be taken out and installed again starting from square one. The company advised us that as a goodwill gesture, they would replace the slab that was damaged from having to slam it shut all the time. The following was listed as install issues -door not installed to code -sill plate out by 1/4 inch -not installed square or properly secured -no shims at hinges -very little insulation -unit moves if pushed on We reached out to ****** and he advised that the door worked when he left our house so we got what we paid for. None of these issues were his fault and he wouldn't even come look at it to check what the issue was. We now have to pay someone new to come and fix his mistakes which requires another full installation charge.I would like a full refund from ******. I sent him $400 in total for this job, which was done horribly.
