I first talked to foothills truck and trailer repair about needing an engine rebuild on a semi I was thinking about purchasing. They said they could definitely do the job. They told me that an issue that they may possibly run into would be getting parts. On March 29th I gave them the go ahead. Throughout the month of April I would contact them once or twice per week to see where everything was at. Always I was told that they were waiting for parts still. On april 29th I was told all of the parts were in and that the rebuild would be starting right away. Approximately a week later I called to see how things were going. Was told that they had sent a part away and cost would be $2200. This was for brackets that turbo would be connected to. They received the part back and after not hearing from them for a week I called for a progress report. On May 5th I was told I needed a new turbo which was a surprise considering 3 weeks earlier I was told that the bracket for turbo neede fixing. Was called back a couple hours later to let me know it didnt need a new one. Also on May 5th was told it would be completed the following Saturday the may 7. I called on Monday may 9 to be told that there was an ecm problem and it needed to be replaced and part was ordered. No quote on price so I assumed that was part of the rebuild. On the 12th I was told that there was a problem with the part but they got another one and my truck should be ready may 14th. I explained I would be gone for a week and would pick up when I got back. I messaged on the Thursday to see if I could pick up my truck was then told there was a manifold problem. This was a complete surprise. I was expecting to pick up my truck on my return. Even more shocking was that again they did not contact me about this. A week later truck was together and they had a problem with the new injectors. I am running out of space to write but to summarize I am $50000 into this and still dont have my truck.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

      Sincerely,

      ***********************

what part of this is not true?  Everything that I wrote is 100% true.  This took 2.5 months to complete.  It cost me more than double what I was quoted and I was not told about extra costs except for when you sent away for the ecm and the welding to repair turbo brackets.  All other parts I thought were included in the engine job.  Plus the length of time this took cost me approximately 60-80000 dollars in lost wages!  I basically begged you to please give me my truck, I had to threaten to take it elsewhere and had to beg you to get an updated invoice to find out where my costs were!  How can a business quote a job at $25000 and then rack it up to $52000 without saying a word?

This customer still owes us over $11000.00. He had promised to pay us if he does not come in and clear this invoice this week we will take legal action.

      Thanks
