Put 13 items in for Consignment on Saturday timed auction 6/19/23 what a disaster. Only 2 items sold. I know you can't win all the time but people heh. 11/13 for $2.50 . 580 upper deck hockey cards for $2.50 . The only big winner was the auctioneer ripping me off . Very disappointed ????. All auctions should start at $5.50 that way we don't get screwed.

As someone who bids online with Kastner Auctions I find the lack of detail put into their listings very problematic. This primarily applies to their Saturday auctions where they only include one photo along with the item or lot. This can be quite dubious in a variety of circumstances, for instance, a lot may consist of several items in a box & a photo could be taken in such a way that items at the bottom or in the back are completely obscured from view. In that situation you are essentially bidding on a partial lot since you cannot see what the other items are, or what condition they are in. Or in another scenario the photo of an item may obscure the actual condition of a larger item. It seems the auctioneers take advantage of the fact we live in a 3D world, but their accompanying photos may only give you enough information to verify 2 of those dimensions. For example, imagine you are bidding on a refrigerator or a large printer & the front of the item makes it appear as if it is in mint or near mint condition, but in actuality the rear of the item is heavily scratched or worn. Such information could very much change how much you were willing to bid on an item. And obviously the auction house's answers to these issues is items are sold "as is" & are available for in-person viewing, but both those claims don't hold water when you offer online bidding, which seemingly attempts to take advantage of exactly that. If you control the representation of items online it's not fair to use it to misrepresent items, either on purpose or by omission, to take advantage of the "sold as is" policy. And if you offer online bidding & shipping then you also shouldn't insist it's the customers' fault for not viewing items in person when you are offering that specific alternative, or at least allow for returns of said items. Also they may change auction parameters "at the auctioneers'" discretion at the moment of sale without alerting online bidders.NOT SUITABLE FOR ONLINE BIDDING!!!

Thanks for the review. I agree that we put one picture on Saturday timed internet, and there is a reason for it. We have weekly auctions and items we collect; Taking multiple images of items is not lucrative. We do not hide damages intentionally; however, Whenever any bidder buys a thing that does not match the description, We do buyer's remorse, where we refund 100% to the bidder. We have "AS IS" and "Viewing on Saturday"; we work with the buyer to get the refund. If you have the same issue, you could contact the office, and I am sure they will help you.We have online bidding due to amount of items we get every week. We do not make descriptions for the item. There is a process which follows, and if the consignor gives the wrong description, there will be a refund to the buyer and a $40 misrepresentation fee applied to the consignor. I urge you to discuss your matter with our front help desk. The email is ******************************** If you already did and didn't get a response. Please email *******************************

Description of items are in accurate for many items. Broken housings, repaired parts and missing parts are often not listed in description. Example: Oscillating desk fan (fan does not oscillate)I know all items are sold "as is". But an obvious wrong or incomplete description is an auction house problem not the seller or buyer fault.Ever since they went "online" the items they are selling are not handled at on the auction floor anymore. Someone there might notice parts missing or broken housings and convey that to the auctioneer. Now they are selling double the items every week "online", I must presume that they do not have time to handle all items that come in to see if they have the correct description. Again a auction house problem and it seems to get worse. Too bad.

Buyer SUPER BEWARE!! Descriptions cannot be trusted, photos are hard to use for verification regarding authenticity. I have been scammed/ mislead and burnt, every time Ive bid and purchased from this auction. My most recent (4 days ago) and having not picked up all of my items, this is the email sent to address the fraudulent items. (No responses as of time of this posting)This is the email which was sent:Please note, items listed as follows have been inspected by a Jeweller and determined to be something other than that which was represented Lot **** EMERALD ********** RING (is costume jewelry)Lot **** ********** DOUBLET OPAL, READY FOR SETTING. JEWELLERY ( is composed of resin and flake, it is not an opal) Lot **** 100 MILS **** FINE GOLD CLAD 1oz BUFFALO BAR ( was worded in a deceptive manor)Lot **** **** SILVER ********* COMMEMORATIVE ( not of a silver content to which silver should be in description) ***************************** TRIPLATE OPAL PENDANT ON 18" SNAKE CHAIN (not an opal, Jeweller unable to determine actual composition, setting and chain description was accurate)I hope you are able to better ensure the accuracy with which items are presented as a result of this message. It leaves me weary to proceed with purchases moving forward given this is not my first time being burnt
