The message bellow to Big Iron, captures the issues I am dealing with, in connection to Big Iron. I have since phoned 5 times, without a response, except in relation to the penultimate paragraph, when one person left a message; I tried to call 5 times without a response! Its now been 11/2 years since Big Iron made all those changes to our water system and we still do not have a problem free system. Essentially, after about 2.5 weeks the water starts to have a Sulphur smell (in hot water only) and the only way to get rid of it is to bleach the hot water tank, overnight. That solves the problem immediately but comes back like clock work. The last time and times previous to that, I bleached the hot water tank and then put 25 pellets into the well for three consecutive days or so, before resuming the normal 11pellet droppings each week. This seems to make no difference, in terms of the Sulphur smell coming back. The other issue is the iron that keeps accumulating in the reverse osmosis filter; I have to change the filters about every two weeks (I used to do that each month for the first filter and up to six months for the two others). The last time you were here you suggested I change the filters – especially the membrane. I changed them all and even replaced other parts of the Osmosis I was unsure about it. That has made no difference to the iron build up in the Osmosis unit. There is no hint of iron anywhere else in the system, ie not in the running water that flows to the rest of the house. Finally, I am still concerned about the amount of salt the system uses; one bag for less than 2 weeks. The last time you were here you suggested that your brother who knows about such things would call me to ensure I have proper settings in the system.
