      I had contracted Arlie's Construction to reno my duplex. He started the project in mid December 2021 and handed off an invoice to me February 11, 2022. There were many mistakes that needed to be corrected on his behalf and I reviewed those fixes with him as well as provided a written account of each room. I have given him access to my home Thursday to Saturday of every week, with advance notice to be given. There have been some delays on both parts as I had contracted Covid and was sick for a few weeks, I also took a week to visit my family for my grandkids birthdays for a week. He had some family and work obligations to attend with as well. From March 2 - 21 he has come into my home to work on the fixes 5 days out of the available 9 days and has only put in a total of 8 hours in that time frame. I have asked him for a completion date twice, to which he has ignored my request. On April 22 he showed up and we had a heated discussion, as I was still not happy with the application and fixes he had done in that small amount of time. He then stated that my expectations were unreasonable and that our opinions differ on what is quality of work. He then stated he was leaving and was going to weigh his options because of our differences. I have not heard from him since. It seems to me that he really doesn't want to dedicate any significant time to correct his deficiencies and doesn't take his obligation seriously. If he does not want to complete the fixes in a serious and timely manner, I have other contractors who are willing to come in and complete his fixes properly and to a standard that is of professional quality. I am attaching pictures of his quality of work as well as the list I provided to him and discussed. Please keep in mind that these pics are just a small representation of the corrections that need to be done.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I find *** ******** response unsatisfactory and libelous. His explanations contain many untruths and rather than supply a solution he is evasive and tries to provide justifications for his work deficiencies. Furthermore, his inferences and theories are inaccurate and defamatory.

       

      My expectations on quality of work are not unrealistic and can be attained with a genuine application of effort and commitment.

       

      As it is *** ******** preference to resolve this dispute formally in a dispute resolution process rather than working towards providing a solution, I will need to further research and examine what the next steps in that process is.
