I was gifted a giftcard for $1020. I misplaced the giftcard and found it a long time after. I have called to redeem this card as it has no expiry written on it. The owner has asked to send a picture of the card via email and then came back to tell me this was purchased with a fraudulent credit card. There is zero proof of her saying this to be true and as far as I'm concerned this is a legitimate giftcard. There is no proof it was even purchased by a credit card. There is no invoice number or transaction identification. I have tried to communicate with them to ask for proof this is the case and they will no longer answer my emails or calls. The giftcard has an authorized signature on it no expiry and the amount of $1020. I believe they have made up this story because they don't want to redeem an older giftcard. This is unacceptable and I am beyond upset with how they have treated me.Customer response

I am no longer in contact with the person who gifted me this giftcard. It was over a year ago. So I cannot provide this as it was a gift to me.Business response

I can understand the customers frustration as we have not been able to connect via phone to discuss through conversation. However as clearly explained in the above emails; I cannot release personal details on a transaction to anyone other than the card holder.
Without any proof from the customer upon original purchase or contact from the original purchaser I cannot release personal information. As this was a legal matter I cannot proceed in any negotiations regarding a concession without some legal ID, original proof of purchase or proof of the card used with matching ID.
We are in contact with our POS company to provide anonymous proof for this customer.
I look forward to exploring options to assist this customer.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because the giftcard has zero proof on it that it was even purchased by a credit card. Prove to me this was purchased by a credit card. As I said I do not speak with the person who gave this to me. It was a long time ago. For all I know this could have been paid for in cash. How can you prove this is true? How was someone able to fraud this amount on a credit card anyway? Wouldn't you need to have a PIN to make a large sale for over 1000$ in which how did a sale go through that was fraudulent? Your story isn't making any sense. Again I believe you do not want to honor an older giftcard. I worked in the same industry as you and this card is equivalent to cash. There is no expiry. There is no invoice # to trace the proof of apparent "credit" transaction. It has no date on it. And there is an authorized signature to prove validation.Business response

I sympathize with your frustration and appreciate your concern. As the clinic owner, the signature on the ** and the employee who sold the ** I can verify a signature was accepted for this transaction and that this ** was purchased with a fraudulent credit card.
However I can only speak to my knowledge of the situation with you. Without contact from the original purchaser I cannot provide any documentation as all documentation recorded is personal, protected information. Again I understand your no longer in contact with the person who gave you this **, but as you seem quiet concerned about the legitimacy of this ** I would strongly suggest having that person contact me to clear up this situation as unfortunately that will be the only way you will be to see the information you are wanting.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because you are expecting me to take your word with no proof with $1020 on the line. Why don't you show me the receipt of this purchase with blacked put private information. So the date of the purchase and the amount of $1020.00 and prove to me from your POS machine that this purchase was proven to be credit card fraud. Black out any of the information you are not aloud to share but show me the rest.

We can definitely provide that but there is no date to match on the ** to confirm your request. The best to resolve this is to have the original purchaser of the ** to contact us so can provide you with the material you are requesting.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
I have already told you I am no longer in contact with the person who gave it to me. I've said this. This giftcard is for YOUR business. It's YOUR responsibility to prove to me what you're saying is true and why you are rejecting redeeming this. As I said prior, this is a legitimate giftcard for over $1000 dollars . Everything on this card is legitimate. What you're telling me doesn't make sense and you haven't shown me anything to prove other wise. How are you even connecting this card ? If there is no date as you said. Show what you have. PROVE to me what you are saying is true. I don't think you have any proof because you don't want to honor an older giftcard. I am not letting this go so you can keep putting on me but it's YOUR business. What I have has to be legally taken as cash value. I know my rights. I don't want to hear another excuse. Please PROVE to me. I am getting very upset.Business response

Please provide me with PROOF of the transaction receipt with blacked out private information. Leave visable the date, and amount of $1020.00 and proof it was purchased with a credit card. And your POS machine would have sent you information stating the transaction for $1020 was fraudulent on the date purchased. You can black out any other private information on this notice as well.Business response

Thank you for your reply, please provide the name of the person who bought and gave you this GC.Customer response

Provide me proof as I said. You say it's fraudulent. Prove it then. I have a legitimate giftcard for your business. You have obviously spent the money from this card and don't want to redeem it. I will go further than BBB if you do not respond with proof. That is allCustomer response

Please provide me the proof. By showing me the transaction date, payment method, and the amount of $1020. And the *** machine paperwork flagging this $1020 as "fraudulent" you can black out any confidential information. But this information I'm asking to see is not confidential, this is just here say. There is not any proof of anything your saying to be true. I have legitimate giftcard. There is zero proof of this to be true.Business response

Okay since you act like a child . You can't answer me. Because you have zero proof. You keep deflecting and making up stories. Pathetic. I'll go out of my way to tell everyone I know how you have handled this. I know a ton of people in ****** and *******. I know alot of people. I'm in the same industry. I'm well aware of my rights and the law. You think you win this by not honoring it . You may have saved 1000$ since you probably already spent it. You should know word of mouth is worth much more than $1000. This is unacceptable and now I'm livid
