We moved into an apartment with Rent Moncton in October, the apartment was infested with fleas, they offered to give a discount on rent for the cost incurred by us having to buy a bunch of flea supplies. I asked them for months for the discount to no avail. Our oven door falls off and he said when we moved in he would have it fixed or get us a new one and they never did. They won't respond to the tenancy Tribunal. I want to be reimbursed for the rent I've had to spend here in a place that is infested with bugs. I have scars from flea bites and scars from burns from this oven not working properly. We need to find a new place to live and can't when we are spending 950 a month on a place that isn't livable. Please help us. This is a business falsely pretending to be landlords. My cat developed sores from scratching flea bites and got worms. She has never had fleas in her life and is an indoor cat. They tried to blame me when we got into the apartment it wasn't even cleaned we needed to clean it ourselves and that's when we got attacked by fleas. The best control company they use has been back here 3 times and we still find more fleas.

      Hi,

When these tenants moved in **** was in charge of everything (I wasn’t working for the company at that time).

He has since been let go as a lot of things were going undone.

For the discount I am unaware if they actually came to an agreement or not on amount as we have no paper work in the office stating that he was going to give them a discount on rent.

I did speak to her end of November / early December and since he was on vacation I told her he would contact her once he would be back.

He did and we never heard back until we got a complaint from the tribunal office.

Once again not sure what was said between them as no paperwork was filled out by ****.

We have responded to the agent with the tribunal who is in charge of ********** file.

We have also agreed to pay her back for the outlet she paid and also fix any problems they might have in the apartment.

That being said we do not agree to reimburse the supplies she bought for ticks or the vet bills for her cat.

We have sent an expert (impact pest control) in her apartment on multiple occasion and each time their were no fleas.

If you have any more question don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email or phone ***** ********

I am rejecting this response because:We left them live evidence of the fleas, it's blatant neglect for them to claim they had no knowledge. Their so called expert tried putting sticky traps for fleas behind garbage cans. No wonder we needed 3 treatments for fleas as well as our own purchased materials to deal with it. I was never contacted about the discount to our rent by ****, I contacted them NUMEROUS times over the course of months regarding the discount. I sent them proof of **** stating there would be a discount. They agreed to pay for a lightswitch and never sent me the money. We fixed shelves and had bought supplies from a store and I sent them the reciept and they denied it. They should be paying for the pain they caused my cat due to the mismanagement of their buildings. When we moved in there was cat hair all over the floor and we were tasked to clean the place ourselves. That is when we found fleas, so so many fleas. We spent that night until 3am trying put best to clean and spray various flea sprays to get rid of them. I have never dealt with fleas in my life this was a terrifying traumatic experience. For them to try to wash their hands of it is despicable. I want no one else to go through what we have gone through with this horrendous excuse for a rental company. We deserve our damage deposit and everything we have asked for. I was only able to find 262$ worth of receipts even though this has definitely cost us upwards of 1000$ and they won't even send the 262$. It's just blatant neglect. We lived there without a working oven, they never came to fix our oven.
