I reserved a room for August 20. When I found out I could stay another night at the same hotel I had booked for the 19th I called to cancel my room at Bridgewater Hotel. Policy was 24 hrs before check in time. I called at 12:40 pm on the 19th and told the gentleman who answered that I was cancelling my reservation for the 20th. He said thank you and didn’t say I had to do the cancellation any other way. The manager when I talked on Sunday said it was to be done by email. Nothing told me when I reserved that I could not cancel by phone. Therefore I requested a refund when I saw the visa charge went through which she refused to do. The manager was rude and did not provide customer service nor tell me who the owner was so I could talk to him/her. My complaint is that I would like a refund as I did call to cancel room in time and I did stay at another place that night which I paid for and received good service. If I was not able to cancel my reservation I should have been told. I followed their policy. Any help you could provide is appreciated. Thank you. I have proof of phone call made if needed.
