Purchased fraudulent ****** card at Herring Cove Road location, purchased card on receipt said Best Buy when I questioned sales person said it was good & authorized.card could not be used returned card to Shoppers the then told me it was fraudulent card gave me A case # said the card was no good, refused to replace the card. Shoppers Drug Mart has my $165 I have no gift card no $165. Not much faith in A busness that doesn't stand behind the products they sell. I am out $165 with nothing to show but A worthless receipt.Business response

On May 9th, 2023 a fraudulent gift card was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart located at 315 Herring Cove Road in Halifax. The gift card had been tampered with outside of the store and then replaced into the store. This is not an uncommon thing to happen and has been an issue with many retailers across Canada in recent years. When the customer became aware of the fraudulent gift card they came back to the store to seek a resolution. As gift card payment, activation, and resolution are handled through a third-party vendor (*********) the Cash Manager gave the customer the phone number for Shoppers Drug Mart customer service. There is a special prompt for "Gift Card Resolutions". Through this customer service line they will assign a ticket number and work with ********* to resolve the gift card issue. Shoppers Drug Mart stores are unable to process gift card refunds and all gift card resolutions must be handled through 1-800-746-7737. The Cash Manager who spoke to the customer at the time assured them that we would help as much as we could if they had any issues with the resolution line. Store management did not hear back from this customer and deduced that the issue had been resolved through the proper gift card channel. As this issue has not been resolved I would implore the customer to once again contact Shoppers Drug Mart Customer Service/Gift Card Resolutions to obtain a refund.
