Elite Heat was scheduled and paid to install a central ducted heat pump in my house on February 6/7, 2023. Here is a summary of events: - November 3, 2022: I was given an estimate of $8,487 on an Ecoer ducted heat pump system (EODA18-H4860B and EAHATN-36B), and asked to pay a 20% deposit to hold the unit. On the same day I e-transferred the **** ********** (owner) $1,700 to his business email. We tentatively scheduled the install for December 1. - November 23, 2022: I requested a detailed quote with model and AHRI numbers. - December 1, 2022: I told **** that the installation would need to be delayed until the end of January due to delays with Nova Scotia Power for my electrical service upgrade. - December 23, 2022: **** informed me that the heat pump supplier needed to clear space from their warehouse, requiring him to purchase the unit. He asked if I could pay my outstanding balance. I requested the detailed quote before I send any money. - December 28, 2022: No quote, but **** informed me that he got the price down to $8,000. - December 29, 2022: **** informed me it was $8,000+tax ($9,200), so my remaining total was $7,500. - December 30, 2022: **** requests money again with no quote. Eventually sends the quote, totaling $10,925 with the installation fees. I sent a $3,000 payment. - January 10, 2023: I informed **** that my service upgrade was scheduled for February 3. - January 12, 2023: **** reminded me that I paid $4,700 so far, and requested additional payment. I told him I would send him money the following week. - January 13, 2023: **** informed me installation was scheduled for February 6/7. - January 18, 2023: I sent **** an additional $3,000 (totaling $7,700). - February 6/7, 2023: I stay home from work, Elite Heat doesn't show up and ****** phone is disconnected. - February 8, 2023: Due to a delay in fueling, I run out of furnace oil and my furnace pump breaks. I had to but a new pump and diesel ($200) to heat my house until the fuel truck could arrive.Customer response

The only agreement of business I have is our text and phone conversations. The estimate is the only document I have received from Elite Heat
