My wife and I purchased a used RV from Jerry’s in 2019. I leaked in several places from the start. It wasnt until 202o that this issue was properly addressed. The service technician,*****,informed me the service should be under their warranty as purchase was less than a year old. I was not given a bill at the time of repair. Now, I am getting invoices and phone calls demanding payment in the amount of $317.40. I do not believe I should be responsable for this invoice as the RV in question leaked from the date it was purchased and company was notified as to this matter. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.Business response

They purchased this used trailer May 14th, 2019. They also bought an after market extended warranty. The service request was received on May 28th, 2020 for a leak when raining. This is over a year after their purchase date. The tech went out on June 10th and did some regular routine maintenance caulking. All trailer manufactures state that all seals and sealants must be checked often, at least every 90 days. When the job was done the bill was written up and the tech attempted to collect. Mr. ***** told him then he felt he shouldn't have to pay. Our warranty on used trailers is 30 days. The customer would have received this. All after market extended warranty companies do not cover water leaks that is not plumbing related or damage resulting from such. He also would have this. He made no prior attempt to call the sales department to see if they would cover this or even help out. The tech has no say on whether something is covered by warranty or not, that is entirely up to the warranty department and the manufacture or after market warranty company. Mr. ***** then told him he had forgotten his wallet. The tech had no choice but to get him to sign the work order and give him a copy. Repeated attempts to collect since have been met with refusal to pay and then with promises to pay which we have as text messages. We have done other work for him since that our warranty department managed to get covered through his after market, saving him over $4000.00. Everything we have done has been done proper and accordingly. In response to Mr. ******* request, he is responsible to pay this bill. If he had a problem with it leaking as soon as he purchased it, why would he wait for over a year to have it addressed. Water leaks are the worst thing to have on a trailer. I will however remove the interest charges reducing the amount owing back to the original invoice of $272.55. This needs to be paid by month end as we do not want to see their credit score hurt by us sending this to collections or imposing a lean on their trailer. Thank you
