I am a first time home buyer and I hired a contractor, he hired PTN electrical solution limited in October 2020. Once the job was complete and I payed everything the company PTN they were refusing on giving me all my paperwork and they also didn't go back to stamp my electrical box. He also didn't want to change my invoice to my name since it's my home and not the contractors home.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/12) */ ***************************************************************** ************************************************ PTN Electrical Solutions Limited were disappointed to find that the complaint had been made against us. In this particular instance, the general contractor ******** ************* had hired PTN Electrical to undertake the electrical repairs and upgrades in this homeowner's house. PTN Electrical completed the necessary work including a new panel change in accordance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Electrical Safety Authority's (ESA) protocol and inspections. Unfortunately, the relationship between the homeowner and the general contractor (***** ****** from ******** *************) had deteriorated and PTN Electrical were caught in the cross fire. PTN Electrical completed the necessary work to make the home safe, however, they were directed by ******** ************* to delay giving the homeowner the ESA certificate. As the ESA certificate was under the name of ******** ************* and not the homeowner this unfortunately was outside of PTN Electrical's authorization. At all times during this period of working with the homeowner, **** ***** the master electrician at PTN Electrical was in communication with them to ensure that they were kept in the loop. The reason why there was not an ESA sticker (stamp in homeowner's electrical box) located on the panel was that the work undertaken by PTN Electrical was inspected without a site visit from the ESA inspector as per the Authorised Contractor Program (ACP) through the ESA. This is a program that is run by the ESA for electrical contractors in good standing. The general contractor, ******** ************* advised PTN Electrical that he was taking the homeowner to court for discrepancies to the the work agreement. PTN Electrical Solutions Limited has not heard anything further since this happened in August 2020 and still has the ESA Certificate on file dependent upon the outcome of the court case. We are still waiting for direction from the general contractor and the courts to release the paperwork, and as soon as this has been resolved between the homeowner and the general contractor the ESA certificate will be available to ******** ************* to forward to the homeowner. Had the homeowner hired PTN Electrical Solutions Limited directly, this would never have been an issue.
