      Scarborough (Toronto) ********* ************* ******** ********** ********* & KINRON COMMUNITY EVENT PLANNING SERVICES INC. Was supposed to host a multicultural community festival. I applied to be one of the vendors for the event to apply henna. The event was supposed to take place on August 25 – Sunday, August 27,2023 at confederation park. Me and my partner paid the full amount before the event. Which was $300 for three days. I have the contract and all forms with details they sent through email. Then on August 22 I was informed the event had to be postponed because they didn’t even have a permit to host the event. So they moved it to October 6-8. With an alternate date of October 20-22. I informed the coordinator Steven M. that I am not available those days and wanted a refund. He promised to give the refund after the event was over. Turns out they didn’t have the event in either of those days and I’m an assuming took money from more vendors promising an event that he didn’t even have a permit for. I called him after to get my money back he didn’t answer. After few days I called again and he answered and took no responsibility of returning the money. I explained that I own a small side business as a henna artist which I started July 2023 and did not sign up for this hassle. He only replied that he doesn’t have the money and can’t do anything about it till next week. I called again the week after and he said the same thing again. When I called again the week after, he informed that he can only refund the money when he gets it back from his insurance company and the timing is indefinite. He is not being cooperative and is taking no responsibility of the refund. I am at loss of what to do and how to get my money back. Because he only keeps pushing back. That’s why I am filing a report here in hopes to get assistance and take the right steps to get the refund and be compensated for the hassle he has put me through for all this time.

      On the contract clearly states that vendor agrees to 50% non-refundable deposit -  this fee is  cover our costs for permits, insurance fees ,etc .

      I am rejecting this response because: the person clearly communicated that they will give a full refund. He gave written response through email **** ******** ***********. And he also multiple times gave his verbal response when I reached out through phone. I do not accept the The 50% non refundable agreement because he did not provide his end of the deal. He mislead and promised an event that he was not allowed to host. He then was hard to reach and dismissive about communication after the event was cancelled in total of 3 times. He then said he will be moving the event to 2024! This is unacceptable. He should not have arranged and publicized about an event that he did not even have a permit for. He did not provide any explanation as too why his permit got rejected 3 times. ** *** ******* *** ** ******* * *** ** ****** ****** *** ******. He promised  full refund and that is why I am claiming it.

      Refund will be given of 50% the other half is. Not refundable to cover our costs for permits , etc.

       

      Before we can issue a refund we going through a CRA audit when this is finalized refund will be issued
