After obtaining estimates, I awarded contract for flat garage roof to *******: work exectuted by subcontractor 23 April/22. Mr. ******* personnally presented the bill on April 24 when I complained that the roofer had removed eavestroughs and metal fascia and carried it away. ******* undertook to personnally repair the damage and restore the eavestroughs. I paid the work to date in full on May 6th $5,059.00 . ******* undertook to do the work himself (no charge for labour) ; I was to pay for materials. The date set was Sunday, May 22/2022. On May 23, ******* cancelled, preferring a trip to Toronto. I sent e-mail reminders on May 24,. July 21, October 4, and finally a Last Call to which he replied on October 23rd :"I can be there within 3 weeks. I will do the repairs". Now, more than 5 WEEKS later. More rain is expected tomorrow. I am still collecting rainwater in garbage cans (4) plus smaller pails so that my garage isn' flooded. I am 78 years old. I have been doing this for 7 months; it is crippling. The Spring melt from tha accumulated snow on the flat roof would cause a catastrophic flood in my garage.Business response

I will go by on the weekend to measure for the material required. I will then complete the work the folllowing weekend. I don’t believe that flat roof is leaking. That’s what the the job was.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:Only when the eaves troughs are replaced and functioning will I estimate the job completed; these were removed and carted away when the garage roof was replaced in April 2022.
Indeed, the very motivation behind the major expense of roof replacement was to solve the problem of drainage of water from the garage roof. The extreme periphery of the roof had deteriorated sufficiently so that much of the rainwater slid down the outside wall of the garage wall without being caught by the eaves throughs.
Some work has been done by the entrepreneur prior to December 11th but rain is expected in the coming days, perhaps only the first of freak winter rainfall, before the major Spring melt.

In May 2016 we had our roof shingles redone by Mulhern Roofing. A few years ago they came to fix a leak that appears to have started after the roof was completed. This leak is affecting my window (which is covered by a porch which was included in the roof shingle replacement. The statement at the time was that they were not sure if it was the roofing job, but stated that they had added extra caulking on the roof at the flashing above the leak. This year, the leak is back and I have attempted to contact the company to have them come back and look at it to check why has started leaking again. Phone calls placed at the beginning of April where not returned and I also emailed the following week and then again this week with photos showing the window frame damage and the roof line and flashing which appears to have little or no caulking. Once again, no response and the leak is continuing. I am also concerned about the damage that this leak would be doing inside the window frame and mold that may be accumulating. I would like the company to respond and come and repair the leak as they stated they have a lifetime warranty on their workmanship. I have included the photos here and screen shots of a few emails.Business response
