I called PC Insurance to get a quote for auto insurance. I got connected to an agent named '***************************'. ******* provided me quotes and gave me two options 'Quote for auto insurance' alone and a quote for 'Auto insurance combined with Tenant insurance'. I called back after a few days and informed ******* that I wanted to proceed with the 'Auto Insurance' alone at this time. My insurance was supposed to start on April 27, 2024 which it did but I received my insurance documents on May 10, 2024. Between that period, I had no proof of insurance! Once, my documents were ready, I got to know that ******* actually enrolled me under the combined insurance of both Auto and Tenant. Since it was just $12 more per month, I didn't make big of a deal. However, all my insurance documents didn't have my full name on it. I emailed ******* asking him to please amend these documents and send me an updated one with my full name mentioned (including my middle name which was missing). Few days later, I received new insurance documents with my full name on them. However, this time alongside the name change, my premium also increased from $2066 to $2678.33 which was $612.33 more. I emailed ******* to inform him about this. He said he would get that change ASAP. Few more days passed and it was time for the insurance company to withdraw money as pre-authorized debit from my bank and my premium was withdrawn as per the new increased quote. I reached out to ******* again and he apologized and informed me that he could cancel my insurance with no penalties instead as 'Definity insurance' was not willing to make amends in terms of my premium. I agreed to cancel my insurance and sent him all the signed documents on May 15, 2024. Today, on May 27, 2024, I just received a new email of a new insurance policy on my name. This is a whole new policy that starts today for 1 year so instead of canceling my policy, I now have 2 active insurance policies for the same car. I demand a full refund now.

The policies have been cancelled effective May 15th 2024 with no penalty.  We have responded to the client yesterday to make the client aware
The insurance company advised they were working through a backlog, hence the reason for the delay in processing the cancellation

I am rejecting this response because: PC Insurance made no efforts dealing with the insurance company. I personally called the insurance company and explained them the entire situation. The insurance company informed me that the broker has only sent them the cancellation request but the cancellation forms were not sent which were originally signed and sent to the broker by me on May 15, 2024. Hence, there was no backlog that the insurance company was dealing with but rather related documents were missing and not sent by the broker which caused the delay. The insurance company further informed me that they will take this matter in their own hands from hereon and will communicate with the broker. To this current date, my policies have been successfully cancelled. However, I will only accept this response/decision once I am refunded for the amount both parties owe me (PC insurance and Definity Insurance). This should take up to 30 days as mentioned in the email so I will wait until that time. A lot of fake promises were made to me earlier by the broker so I am not buying this decision until I get my money back.

      Sincerely,
      ***************************

On may 19/23 I spoke to a representative (******* *********) at PC insurance regarding adding/quoting a vehicle I had purchased. On may 23/23 I recieved a call back, I was told that I could get a liability slip but would not be given a price as my account was "locked" until the 28th due to upcoming payment. I was told I could opt for a call back after the 28th. I refused to proceed without a cost. On May 29 I called and again spoke to ******* who stated I would not receive a price at all and would have to agree to coverage and then wait a few days to see the cost. At that point I could call and cancel the coverage but would be charged for the coverage up until that time. Another agent stated she usually gives people estimates. Ultimately I do need insurance so I requested the liability slip so I can travel with my vehicle.

A Team Leader representing PC Insurance contacted Mr. ****** yesterday to discuss his concern.  We have apologized for the inconvenience experienced and do not believe there is any further action required regarding this situation.  The team leader provided his direct contact information in the event Mr. ****** required any further assistance.

Emailed request for assistance with renewal. Received a letter that my auto policy was moving to new insurance Company due to my current one closing completely. Received one response and once I asked for some clarification, have not received a response. I've emailed again, and again, called multiple times. My banking information was never changed as requested and now my last payment bounced. It's 2.5 hours since I first called and still no one there to answer why I have to be responsible for the NSF charges when written proof in email states no response whatsoever. I've been a LONG time client and it seems if you're already a client PC Insurance offers no support or assistance. I have 10 days now to get insurance updated. 3rd time on hold today alone, 2.5 hours on hold trying to rectify this situation. The 2 people I spoke to today so far don't seem to care about the fact that I've been ignored for 1 month straight. Followed up and requested multiple updates. This is beyond unprofessional. My money is not respected here one bit.

We assigned a representative to work on a resolution to the clients concern.  We have authorized payments of her fees related to the NSF charges, and  also provided her with quotes to remarket her policy.  She elected to leave the policy with Aviva, and has expressed that she is very satisfied with the service she was provided by the broker and team leader who handled her file.

      Complaint: ********

I have not received any update for expected funds.

      Sincerely,

      Business response

      19/09/2022

We have agreed to reimburse the client for the costs related to the NSF fees.  We have all of the documentation we need with exception of the final RSA pmt which we understand will likely be returned.  Once we get that we will put through the request to have the fees reimbursed and ask that the cheque be expedited.
