The BBB Educational Foundation works closely with Better Business Bureau serving Eastern Carolinas, managing its educational and charitable initiatives.

Scambusters

Scambusters® is a unique suite of programs designed to teach recognition and avoidance of scams through its flagship live presentations, flip lessons, and even a video game.

Annual scholarships awarded to high school juniors, seniors and college undergraduates in our service area who personify high ethical standards as demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity, and academic history.

BBB Torch Awards for Ethics logo

Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics publicly recognize businesses and charities that maintain a solid commitment to conducting their business practices in an ethical manner. Winners and finalists are selected in small, midsize, and large business categories.

BBB Torch and Spark Awards are selected by panels of judges. Finalists for both these awards are placed in the running for the BBB Consumer Choice Awards, voted on by the public. 

BBB Spark Award logo

This annual award is bestowed upon a business leader 35 or younger or a new entrepreneur of any age operating for less than three years. Winners must demonstrate a sense of Character, Culture and Community.

BBB Spark Jr logo

This annual award is bestowed upon a current high school student or college undergraduate who displays entrepreneurship. It seeks to recognize similar virtues as those for the Spark Awards.

The Better Business Bureau Educational Foundation is organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation is affiliated with the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Carolinas, Inc., and is chartered to serve forty-eight counties in eastern North Carolina and South Carolina
