Congratulations to our 2024 Mary G Moad Award Winners!
The award recipients were announced at a luncheon held at Casa de Palmas, Trademark Collection by Wyndham in McAllen on Wednesday, September 4th.
Presented annually since 2012, the awards recognize businesses in South Texas that maintain outstanding dedication to upholding ethical business practices and promoting trust in the marketplace.
The finalists and award-winning companies were selected by a panel at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, College of Business & Entrepreneurship volunteers.
The applicants included, in alphabetical order, A Better Choice Education Foundation, Elizondo Financial Solutions; Gator Plumbing and Backflow; Hamlin Pools; JC Air Conditioning LLC; LTR Construction; MedCare EMS; Peña Eye Institute; Roofing A-1 & Construction Corporation; The Lakes Family Dental; and Vallrod Construction.
WINNERS:
First Place “Mary G. Moad Ethics Awards” was presented to Abygail T. Elizondo, Owner of Elizondo Financial Solutions LLC. It is a BBB Accredited Business since January 19, 2017.
Elizondo Financial Solutions LLC was established in October, 2017. The company treats its employees as family, demonstrates exceptional ethical practices and community engagement, making them a standout for the top spot.
Second Place “Pinnacle Winner” was awarded to Martin Valladares, Owner of Vallrod Construction. It is a BBB Accredited Business since May 8, 2020. Vallrod Construction was established in April, 2019. It is a company that truly values ethical practices, from their personalized customer interactions to their commitment to employee and client well-being.
Third Place “Winner of Distinction” was awarded to Ronnie Ontiveros, Owner of MedCare EMS. It is a BBB Accredited Business since July 23, 2024. MedCare EMS was established in October, 2009. This company upholds the highest ethical standards, prioritizes Patient-Centered Care, empowers their employees, and engages with the community.
