I was scheduled to have surgery on Thursday April 6th and was supposed to receive eye drops in the mail to use 3 days before my surgery. Thursday afternoon March 30th I got a call from VisionAmerica in Birmingham, going over what I should do before surgery and asked if I received my eye drops. I told them I didn't and I was told to call the pharmacy in ******* so I did and they told me the Surgical Coordinator should have called them a week ago to make sure I received them in time for surgery. The Pharmacist said there's no guarantee I would get the eye drops by Monday. I felt so stressed out that I payed ***** dollars out of my own pocket to have them expressed mailed thinking VisionAmerica would reimburse me. Monday I got a text message asking me to confirm my appointment with the doctor with no explanation so I thought they changed my surgery date. I had no idea I was even supposed to see the doctor the day after surgery. I would have thought they would send a reminder of the time and day of the surgery. I have lost all confidence in VisionAmerica and did not feel at ease to have the surgery.Initial Complaint

Last week I got aye surgery, my doctor scheduled an appointment on 10/20/22 at this facility at 08:00 am, they gave me a reminder card, I showed up before 8:00 am, when I was to check in, they told me that they moved my appointment for next week, without let me know in advance I got permission from my job to be there on time.They made me wasted my trip and 3 hours from my job.I have written proof of my appointment.Business response

Unfortunately, when the patient checked out from our office, we wrote down 10/20 on his appointment card, but scheduled him exactly 1 week later at the same time, on 10/27. It was a mistake by a newer employee, and we have taken steps to train and ensure this does not happen to other patients. I have contacted the patient to apologize for our mistake.
