The worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. Buyer Beware. Hired for plumbing and remodel for a 21 day project. Fired after 35 days. Destroyed property, tile. Did not supply materials for project. Paid $**** for deposit and pump. Nothing is working. Nothing has been completed. Left a total mess day after day. This is a dishonest contractor. He left his nephew to work on plumbing, and is not a plumber. Just apprentice. The contractor never stayed on property. Did not do anything I asked for. It was very obvious he spent our money and didn't didn't have money to do work neccessay. I have plenty of pics and contract that has been breached. Do not hire this contractor. Very dishonest. We will have to spend $**** to fix and finish his mess.

      Real Thorough Contracting Company Response

      01/07/2022

At Real Thorough Contractors, we pride ourselves on making sure that all of the work that we do is efficient and of standard at all times. We are always disappointed when one of our customers are not satisfied with the work we have done. However, we always are fair and most importantly do all work with due diligence. We were within three hours of completing the job when the contract was terminated. The sheet rock had been mudded and completed and all of the plumbing but the set outs were completed. The plumbing was completely done and would have taken two hours to set out. Within the contract the owners were responsible for supplying all fixtures, door paint, windows, and appliances. We were responsible for supplying the dry wall and framing (in which we had installed all of it and painted it out).We also would install tile provided by the owner from which the tile was almost complete when we received the call for the contract termination.
After most of the work was completed, we then received a text message saying that our contract was being terminated. The reason being was that the customer did not like the tile work that our sub-contractor completed. The customer said that the tile was done incorrectly although the customer gave the direction of how they wanted it done specifically. The customer was able to see the work in real time and if they were not pleased with the work at any time they could have let us know. After we were terminated, we then learned that our sub-contractor was being asked to continue to do tile work. If our contract was being terminated, we do not understand why our sub-contractor was asked to complete the job if our work was not up to par. There was three thousand dollars left to pay on the job that our customer did not pay, with most of the work being completed.
In terms of timing, the time had to be extended to make sure it was done correctly. When the pump was added, the basement floor had to be jack hammered out and a pump had to be installed along with the plumbing. The floor had to be put back which then required additional time which would have added three weeks to the schedule. We did inform the customer that there could be a delay due to the work that had to be done. We always want to make sure that it is done correctly. Real Thorough Contractors always wants to make sure that our customers are satisfied and all work is done to the best of our ability.
