I hired Mizells Renovations to build a deck and a sunroom. Over a period of 3 months, they completed this job on July 5, 2022. They provided a 1 year warranty on the sunroom and deck.I gave to them a punch list on June 16, 2022, before the project completion. One item on that list was water leakage coming in under the door and at the corner of the room. Another item was to adjust the door that did not close and swing correctly. They told me that they fixed all the problems on the list and I gave them a check that completed the payment for the sunroom on July 5, 2022. That night the water leakage reappeared. I called ****** the next day.Over a period of approximately 6 weeks, Ive called out Mizells Renovations about the continuing leak. On 3 occasions they came out to repair it. They did not ever test the repair they made. After a call I made on September 5, ********************* came out on September 13 with another worker. They examined the connecting wall to the corner and applied some caulk. I requested that they come back later to water test the wall and fix the door that had been maladjusted by the previous repair. **** agreed to this. No one ever came out to do either.I have attempted to reach Mizells Renovations by phone over the last 3 weeks and have left multiple voice messages but have not been able to contact anyone. As of September 30, I have not had any returned phone calls or other correspondence with Mizells Renovations.Business response

We were contracted by ************** on 1/3/22. We started the build on April 28th and finished on July 5th. This job took just over 9 weeks. ************** constantly made changes to the build along the way that delayed the process. He signed the completion certificate on 7/5/22 stating everything was done and complete. Prior to that, two weeks prior we were given a punch list of items he wanted resolved. The crew did that punch list to his liking and when the job was complete, he handed them another punch list on 6/30/22 with such things as the deck boards were dirty from foot traffic and wanted them all replaced and a leak at the door. We scheduled to go back out after the 4th of July, and We replaced some deck boards and completely cleaned his deck and sealed around the door. At this time, he has had enough time to look over everything and tell us if there was a problem, but he was happy! He signed and paid everything but what he owed for addons during the build which he did not want to pay. After we left, he decided to get out with a water hose to check if the door was leaking, We just sealed the area and it was not ready for this. The water and extreme force washed out sealant out and made the door leak again. He called the office the next day to say he had a leak and wanted someone to fix it. I asked how it could leak if it did not rain and he told us about the water hose. We scheduled a visit to go back but told him he does not have a warrant until the balance was paid so he paid the final $750.00, and we went out to disassemble the wall to find a leak. During that process ************** was all over the shoulder of the crew member and telling him how to fix the problem and hindered him from doing his job. We addressed the issue we believed was a problem and left. The next day another call come in that it was still leaking. Again, it has not rained. We scheduled another appointment and went out about a week and a half later where he then told us the gutter was too loud. I don't even know what that means. Again, two days later another leak but with no rain and that he didn't like the electrical switch cover. I called ************** and set up another appointment to come out. He told me he did not want the last guy I had out to come back so myself and anther crew member went out to address the issues. ************** then added he wanted the door readjusted, which means new trim and we did not bring any because we were unaware, he was happy with it. Again, we corrected the switch cover and addressed the so-called leak. I told ************** that the sealant has to cure so we will be back in a few days to water test this our self. I also explained to him that the water test needed to mimic rainfall and not a heavy forceful stream. I had a message the next day from him that it was still leaking. I would love to fix this issue because we believe in customer service. We stand behind our product and want to the best job we can but with ************** that seems impossible to please. We have bent over backwards to accommodate this customer from start to finish. We are willing to resolve the issue if the customer would agree to let us. The last couple times that we have been out the customer has added things such as switch cover, loud gutters, door adjustment and leak. If he could email me a list of things, he wants corrected we will go out and resolve any realistic issues there are. Thanks.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.However I want any repair of the water leak made to be tested after several days to be sure it is fixed.
Sincerely,
