I picked up my dog today 7/13/2024 from boarding for 1 week and grooming at Academy West Animal Hospital Boarding and Grooming. They had called me earlier in the day saying my dog appeared to have an eye infection and asked if the vet could take a look at it. I agreed, and when I picked my dog up, he clearly had an infection in both eyes. The girl at the counter, ****, then told me the groomer had actually cut my dog in the inner thigh area, and that the vet had said it didn't need medication and should be fine. They gave me a small tube of antibiotic for his eye infection, Upon returning home with him, we found pretty bad abrasions on his inner leg, and two cuts. His eyes look red like they were bleeding they were so bad. They never contacted me while we were away, although they made me sign a statement saying that they would if he had any problems while we were away. After seeing what they had done to him, I felt really angry that they had charged me for hurting my dog. This is not the first time this has happened, and they had no concern really for the pain and suffering my dog went through due to their lack of care. The fact that this person continues to hurt dogs is beyond my comprehension. I asked her before to use a guard on the clippers to prevent this from happening, and she continues to not use the guard and cut mine and other dogs. I looked on Yelp, and there are multiple reviews of them doing the same thing to other dogs. They keep getting away with this, and it's wrong!
