Durango Masonry was contracted through Angi's List (November 2021) to build two ~100' block walls, with 4 swing gates, and the big problem: one 16' sliding gate with remote control and electrical installed. I made my first payment to ****'s Invoice number 9ECF8878-0002, December 17, 2021. However, *****************, the contractor stated he would need to quote the electric 16' gate separately since he had to get a separate quote for that from a specialty gate shop. It came to $3300, I paid via check #*** (December 7, 2021.) He said it would be about 6 weeks to build that gate. By March 2022 the walls and other gates were pretty much done. Mr. **** said the 16' gate was ready and he would try to pick it up next week, one of many always next week excuses. Then over the next 9 months, every excuse for delays was used: a death in the family, he had COVID, his ******* had COVID, his ******* had to travel back east and without his truck he couldn't pick up the gate, I offered to loan him my trailer and he said he would work to schedule a day to pick up the gate. After giving him more than enough time, I contacted him repeatedly, only to get more excuses; the gate guy built the gate 14' instead of 16', then the wood slats were on backorder, then weeks later the gate guy was moving, then he couldn't find the gate, and it might have been stolen... The story shifted to some other excuses; he was going to combine trailer rental with a backhoe job and it would be about another week, then the next promise was that the gate was finished (for the 5th time) and he would have the whole thing, gate, electrical, and motor installed by August 15, 2022. That didn't happen and instead he said he had to travel somewhere. Then on Aug. 15th, he said he called the gate guy and the gate would be finished Aug. 16th (finished for the 6th time!) and he would try to pick it up by Friday the 19th and could finish, you guessed it, again next week! He has since given me a dozen more Ill finish it up next week excuses. Then on Monday January 16th he promised to be here next Thursday or Friday. No show. I called him again Friday the 20th for an explanation, and he replied he would have his crew here Monday or Tuesday (23rd or 24th) No show again, *** called him again and his voice message was that hed call me back (AGAIN!). I need resolution. Thank you for any help you can provide.
