We took great care of the Feagley home we rented for 3.5 years, paid rent on time and were patient w recurring issues like older fixtures/grout mold etc. We had a housecleaning service professionally clean the bathrooms/kitchen, carpet and bedrooms (all but carpet cleaning was above and beyond what was required by lease). We asked many times for a walk through to make sure we were all in same page about what condition they wanted the place back in, but they ignored our multiple requests so we did what we have done at every other apartment and returned it in the same or better condition to how we found it. We called after we moved out to ask for a convo w the agent so we could explain a few details since we moved on a holiday weekend and had Covid so had to take a few precautions. We were hit with surprise charges for 1) a second cleaning company that they hired to clean what our cleaning person had already cleaned and 2) a hauling company to carry stuff away. Not sure what they meant, I called the hauling company to learn more & they didnt recall the job- then when I told them the property info they said they may have been asked about hauling lawn furniture from the backyard (this furniture came w the rental). Feagley said they could provide receipts w cleaning/hauling charges details but they yet to do so despite repeated requests.. They only elaborated in one short email that they hauled away stuff, had someone clean the sink grout (which was a recurring problem we complained about the entire time, and said they had to scrape stickers off a kids bedroom window (these were there we moved in). We dispute their account and bad faith charges for regular wear and tear of living somewhere 3 years but more importantly they should have let us know these expectations during multiple requests for a walk through prior to moving out. We left the place in the same condition we found it We have been asking for 1 phone call to go over the mistaken charges.
