When I called in to renew my earthquake policy, a representative sold me a policy with higher premium and higher coverage. I took it and paid in full right away.Several weeks later, I received a letter from the company, with much higher premium but the same coverage, because they said they made a mistake. I called customer service several times and eventually talked to the manager ****. She lowered the policy coverage and asked me to pay another $120. I paid off with her over the phone. She said we are all set.Then another letter came in several weeks later. I still owe premium.. called **** several times. Also sent email to customer service. No response. Received another letter today. This time, there is not only premium due, but also service charge.Initial Complaint

On December 20th our home was hit by a large earthquake, knocking it from its supports and causing substantial damage to property and the structure (damaged window frames, broken floor supports, damaged wall panels, water damage etc.) On December 21st I opened a claim with my insurance provider (*****************) who use Geovera Holdings for their Earthquake Policies (of which I'm a holder) I was issued a claim number *******, and an appointment was set for an adjustor to inspect the home (visit on December 26th) After that things got quiet, communications with Geovera pointed at Pac Spec, and vice versa, all the while we were burning through our savings in a hotel as our house was unsafe to live in. And then things just went quiet, attempts to reach Geovera went unanswered. We've had to move back into the house which is progressively getting worse as water continues to damage window frames and wall panels generating mold, and the house remains unleveled. It took calling my AllState agent who sponsored the policy to call both agents directly to get any reply, (This was on Feb 10). ***************** was the first to reply, letting me know that they were waiting on Geovera for documents, and they themselves were having issue reaching them. Geovera contacted me shortly after to tell me they were preparing documents and would be sending them out the following day to Pac Spec. On follow up with Pac Spec agent, they received no documents. On reaching out to Geovera again, they stated they're applying another Engineer visit to my house, further delaying the process and ignoring my questioning of why no documents were sent, We are a few days out on the 2 month date of this claim, and this feels like they're taking it back to day one. They have been provided with invoices of repair estimates, detailed lists of damages, 100's of photos, and an adjustors visit. I have emails, receipts, photos, everything. I just want them to honor their policy so I can make our home safe.Initial Complaint

GeoVera underwriters are asking for unreasonable information that dates back 14 years. All information that is required is on the ******* website which I have sent to them. The **** of America only saves information for 7 years. The *** requires 3to7 years,so how can justify asking for documents that are 14 years old.Business response

ON AUGUST 28, 2021, MY HOME WAS DAMAGED BY THE WINDS FROM HURRICANE ***. MY 83 YEAR OLD MOTHER AND I EV**UATED TO ******* DURING THE ****** UPON RETURNING FROM *******, WE HAD TO STAY WITH MY SISTER AND BROTHERINLAW FOR THREE (3) WEEKS, BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ELECTRICITY AT MY HOME. WHEN IT WAS FESIBLE, i DID **CESSED THE DAMAGE AT MY HOME. ON 10/1/21 I WAS ABLE TO CONT**T A GEOVERA PROPERTY CLAIMS REPRESENTATIVE BY THE NAME OF **************. I EXPLAINED THE DAMAGES (*****, *****, AND A 16 + YEARS ** UNIT THAT MUST BE REPL**ED BECAUSE **CORDING TO A PROFESSIONAL ** REPAIRMAN, THE PARTS WERE NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR THAT MODEL. ************** ASSURED ME THAT BECAUSE THE DAMAGES WERE DONE BY THE WINDS SECTION UNDER MY POLICY. ON 10/11/2021, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM ANOTHER GEOVERA PROPERTY CLAIMS REPRESENTATIVE BY THE NAME OF ******************************* WHO HAD ASSUMED RESONSIBILITY FOR THE HANDLING OF MY CLAIM. HE REVIEWS ****************** NOTES AND SAID THAT THE ***** COST OF REPAIRS WOULD BE $531.74. HE ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE ***** AND THE REPL**EMENT OF THE ** UNIT WERE NOT COVERED UNDER MY POLICY. I EXPLAINED THAT THE WINDS DESTROYED THESE ITEMS AND THEY ARE COVERED UNDER THE POLICY. HE STRONGLY DISAGREED. I TRIED EXPLAINING TO HIM THAT THE ** NEEDED TO BE REPL**ED AND NOT REPAIRED. I ALSO TOLD HIM THAT MY 83 YEAR OLD MOTHER HAS AN UNDERLINE MEDICAL CONDITION AND THAT WE COULDN'T LIVE IN A HOT ENVIRONMENT. ON 10/22.21, AN ADJUSTER CAME TO MY HOME TO INSPECT THE DAMAGE. HE NOTICED THAT THE **** NOT DAMAAGED, BUT THE ***** AND ***** WERE AND ASSURED ME THAT THEY WERE COVERED UNDER MY POLICY. MR. ******************************* TOLD ME THAT SINCE THE OLD ** UNIT WASN'T AVAILABLE TO INSPECT, I WON'T BE REINBURST FOR THE AMOUNT OF $9010 FOR REPL**ING THE NEW ** UNIT. THEN I RECEIVE A DENIAL LETTER FROM ********************, DENYING MY CLAIM. I HAVE APPLIED FOR A LOW INTEREST SBA GOVERNMENT LOAN TO ASSIST WITH REPAIRS.I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THIS WHEN THE WINDS FROM HURRICANE *** DAMAGE MY PROPERTY.
