      I paid a total of $1094 for a pair of headlights from SICKHIDS. When the headlights arrived, the fit was way off and did not fit my vehicle like it was supposed to be. I contacted ***** to fix the issue and send him photos and video of the headlights and he took a defensive approach not offering to fix the problem. He finally agreed for me to return the headlights. I let him know that I wanted to get the headlights fixed as soon as possible, since I had waited over 3 months for the product to arrive. It has been about a month since I returned the headlights, and he still refuses to either fix them of refund my money.

      ********************* contacted me to build him a 100% Custom Pair of Headlights, to his specific preferences and specifications. I provided him with good communication and detailed picture/video updates of every step throughout the entire process, in which he only expressed satisfaction and appreciation upon every communication and every stage of the production process before we continued to the next steps.

      When I unformed ********************* that his order was complete, he told me that a friend would be installing for him. I suggested the install be done by a professional, but he insisted that his friend was going to install anyway. I told him to please give his friend my business card and have him call me if he had any questions or needed any assistance. He said that his friend likes to do things his own way and will not be calling me for anything.

      The day ********************* received delivery of the Custom Built Product, he emailed me and said that his friend was having difficulty installing them properly. I asked him to have his friend call me, but he declined. He then sent me a couple pictures of his car (for the first time since he placed his order), revealing at this time that he has an aftermarket front bumper on his car (not original equipment from the manufacturer) and required special needs/attention to fit the new lights how he would prefer them to be. I offered to instruct his friend/installer how to make adjustments to the mounting brackets on the new lights to accommodate his aftermarket equipment, but he declined and proceeded to demand a full refund in a threatening manor. I then offered to make the necessary adjustments myself for him, but he just continued making threatening statements and demanding a full refund. He then demanded that I pay him $50 to ship the mounting brackets to me, and instead I provided/sent him a prepaid shipping label for him to ship the mounting brackets to me.

      ********************* has only been rude and unreasonable since he received the product even though Ive offered reasonable solutions, demanding his money back for the product of which he still has the majority of in his possession. It appeared obvious from the day he received the product, that he intended to try and get his money back while also keeping the product. Though our company return policies are clearly stated on our website (no refunds / no returns), at this point the only way I would even consider any sort of refund would be only after he shipped ALL parts of the product to me (headlights, bulbs, ballasts, wiring harness, etc) at his own expense and at that time, it would be less 20% due to the fact that they are now USED (impossible to resell as new and are subject to depreciation) and less another 20% restocking fee for all components used in the production of the final product.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      Dear BBB,
      ******************** claims that the headlights that he sent me do not fit properly because I have a custom bumper. This is a most erroneous and false statement, as you can see by the photos provided my Pontiac Sunfires stock headlights fit perfectly in my vehicle and there is nothing wrong or abnormal about the bumper. The photos show the reality of the defectiveness of his design and thus are irrefutable proof of the problem. I measured the headlights that he sold me and the lenses are approximately **** inches smaller. I informed this fact to him and I have copy of the emails that I sent to him. I tried in good faith to solve these issues but ******************** has repeatedly refused and ignored to either refund my money or repair the headlights. I reject the terms completely that ******************** proposed. ******************** sold me a defective product and therefore it is his responsibility to provide me with a full refund. As a customer that acted in good faith, I am very disappointed with his lack of customer service and poor attitude. I demand a full refund for all the money that I sent to him in the amount of $1094. If he would like me to return the harness, I will return it to him once the money I am requesting gets fully refunded and he provides a prepaid mailing label. ******************** currently has the headlights that I paid and has the $1094 as well. Since it has become apparent that he will not redesign the of the headlights lenses I am requesting a full refund immediately. Thank you very much for your help.
      Sincerely,
      *************************;

      Business response

      02/22/2023

      I have built dozens of these same exact lights for the same vehicle application (year/make/model) over the last 16 years and never once had an issue or complaint from a client regarding fitment. This alleged issue appears to be unique only to *********************** specific circumstance and condition of his vehicle.

      As mentioned, I provided for him a prepaid shipping label and he decided to send back just a portion of the product. He has been unreasonable and impossible to satisfy thus far. No refunds will be issued or considered as long as he retains any parts of the product.

      Once ********************* has returned 100% of the product at his own expense, I will evaluate what will be fair to consider in the way of a refund (depending on the condition of the product and all parts of the product being accounted for). The following items must be returned and accounted for

      2-HID Bulbs
      2-HID Ballasts
      4-LED Drivers
      2-Custom BuiltHeadlights
      1-Custom Built Relay Harness

      If ********************* feels that I am in any way being unfair, he can take his request to PayPal (which was his payment method of choice). Ive been a good-standing PayPal member for *************************************************************************************** exceeds all of PayPals guidelines and policies. If PayPal decides that any action be taken by me or *********************, I will happily continue to do whatever is necessary to conclude this issue in the most fair and reasonable manor.

      Customer response

      02/24/2023

      I am rejecting this response because:

      Dear BBB,
      According to the Britannica dictionary the definition of a scam is as follows:

      A dishonest way to make money by deceiving people.
      ******************** promised me a product that would fit my vehicle. ******************** failed to do so.
      ******************** promised to repair the defective product that he sold me and failed to do so.
      ******************** at this point is holding both my hard-earned money in the amount of $1094.00 and the product hostage without providing anything in return, since 01/17/2023.
      As you can see by the irrefutable evidence that I provided versus ************************ hearsay, who is telling the truth and who is not.

      I have attached 6 photos that show beyond any reasonable doubt that the product that ******************** sold me is defective. Let it be known that he later kept the product without him showing any effort to repair or return the money that I paid to him. Please notice how the headlights built by ******************** have a huge gap where you can almost get your whole hand underneath the headlights and on the sides. Compare that with the stock headlights. Let me ask anyone, if there was anything wrong with my vehicle's bumper, would my stock headlights not look like his SICK HID headlights? I just can't accept ************************ product for the following reasons:
      Looks completely unattractive and ugly.
      Will compromise the integrity of my vehicle by exposing my vehicle to water and the elements.
      If ******************** claims to be an experienced builder of headlights he would be most aware of those facts. I have bought numerous automotive aftermarket accessories and never had such an unpleasant and difficult time dealing with a vendor. ******************** is only discrediting himself at this time by acting unreasonably and unethically at this point. I would not recommend his services to anyone. Once again I am asking for a full refund in the amount of $1094 ASAP. Thank you very much for your time.

      Sincerely,

      *************************;
