The purpose of this message to file formal complaint against Chipman Relocations and Logistics for damage to my household goods which they packed, moved and stored in their warehouse(s).Chipman and I have been unable to come to agreement on responsibility for damage to my goods. Chipman deflects most of the responsibility for damages to my items, despite having photos of this damage, still on the Chipman loading dock. Photos of my items, from the Chipman loading dock (before Allied touched the items) document torn and punctured leather furniture, gashes, scrapes and general filth and abuse. Brief background:10/18/2018: My household goods were packed, moved and stored by THE MOVING COMPANY in *********, **. 4/2020: Chipman bought assets from THE MOVING COMPANY. My household goods were moved (again) to Chipmans ********* Warehouse.Fall of 2022 I selected a company, other than Chipman, to pick up and transport my goods. 09/19/2022: The ********************************* / ******* crew met me at the Chipman loading dock. The Allied driver (*************************) and I took photos and documented the deplorable condition of my goods, while on the Chipman loading dock, before loading the goods. The driver filed a 4 page Rider to Inventory.10/19/2022: I submitted a claim to Chipman.02/01/2023: Chipmans final settlement offer was submitted to me, admitting (and offering to pay for) very little of the damage, mainly blaming *********************************. Chipmans inspector took pictures (in my living room) of the very same damage (which Allied had documented on the Chipman loading dock). Chipman tried to justify their lack of responsibility by comparing their inspectors report with the 4 page exception report submitted by the Allied driver. Interpretation of that comparison is subject to where one places commas. I have elevated this to Chipman management with no response.
