Hire right has been the slowest and least honest background check company I've ever interacted with. When I ask why it's taking so long for my background check the reply by saying it's because a "runner" is going to the county and getting my files. So I asked the county about this and they replied that they have not heard of this and that everything they need is available online. So when I asked Hireright for the runners contact info so that I could help get the information they were having trouble getting I was told that they can't tell me. I told them that I have a hard time believing that you have a runner physically going to these county's to get files on me when it's all available online. I asked what a runners job entails or what the actual process involves is since it involves my personal info and was abruptly told my chat had ended and kicked off of the live chat. What a joke

The company is taking extremely long time to complete my background check, which could delay my start date. Ive uploaded several documents and hireright is still delayed. This is a very stressful process and improvements should be made. Agents tell me different answers to the same question each time I ask. The *** should investigate and close this sham of a business. Ive been waiting for over 3 weeks on a background screening to start a new job. They claim they are waiting on a GA county to respond but the county claims to have no requests received. Ive called twice and spent over an hour on the phone with no resolution. All of their agents are foreign and have difficulty communicating. They should not be servicing anything that would involve someone getting a job.HireRight Response

This is the slowest and worst background check company ever! I had two different job offers and did the background check for both, hire right has had 12 days to complete it and the other company completed it and emailed me back in 3 days. When speaking with hire right they "dance" around any questions you ask and put everything off for 3 days everytime. They must be giving these big corporations a huge discount on background checks cause too many are using them when they need to be put out of business!HireRight Response

Horrible company.Been waiting for 2 weeks.They search courts for your name, and the common other spelling along with DOB. I know 3 people with my name and DOB.They rejected copy of proof of education through Diploma Sender. They requested I fill out of form so they can use Diploma Sender to verify what I already gave them.Customer service is Inia and they don't seem to understand what is going on.Traffic tickets are not criminal records...HireRight Response

I have been waiting on a background check to process for over a month and they say they are waiting for an appointment and I think their not fully doing their job and its hurting me because I have a job offer. It has been at 71% since I first got the offer and did my drug screen. Im disappointed in this service and wonder how companies use this third party.HireRight Response

Zero or negative stars if possible. Background check started on 08/08/2024, today is now 08/23/2024, and all I have gotten from them is inconsistent comments from different rude agents, delay after delay, and absolutely no accountability. I'm flabbergasted that a company as large as the one I applied to is using this garbage that is called HireRight. Their support and tech is atrocious. It's not like I had a choice, though, but if I did, I would dang well stay away from HireRight. They're messing with people's lives, delaying my work start date, and even possibly committing fraud insofar as mishandling sensitive data. Not cool. Searching for a job is already challenging enough, and HireRight takes it to a whole new level of frustration. Jerks.HireRight Response

Terrible company, terrible process, terrible follow through! I worked at a business for nearly 2 decades, and provided HireRight with the phone number and HR contact to prove my employment on a background check. Do you think they would follow through? Not really sure who they contacted, but HireRight claims to only verify 1 single day of employment..., and not 20 years. WTF? So, now I had to send off 2 decades worth of W2 statements as proof (and God only knows where that document ended up). It seems you have to hold their hand when doing employment verifications, or some paid monkey had no idea what they were doing, and just decided to play with someone's future by guessing. Employment verification: Step 1 - contact past employer. Step 2 - if nobody answers the phone, just take a wild guess, and hope the boss won't notice. In the end, since I only had 17 years' worth of W2's and not all 20, they claimed "insufficient documentation". Really guys? DO BETTER! DO YOUR JOB!HireRight Response

Thank you for your feedback. The results provided by the employers vendor are under reinvestigation. Multiple attempts have been made to obtain this verification from the employer, which includes calls made and messages left for the person who is said can provide assistance. Calls were made to the number that you provided. To date, however, we have received no response. In addition, this employment verification involves one earlier company acquisition and then another more recent company acquisition. We have now reached out to the various entities in the hope that one of them, at least, will respond and provide a verification of the employment that you submitted supporting documentation for. This company takes your data and wont delete it, even when asked. They made me submit documents without telling me I could remove personal information. Now, they hold sensitive details like my social security number and tax recordseverything needed for identity theft. The entire process invaded my privacy. It's shocking that companies allow this to happen. I hope others stop using their services. Even after my background check was done, they refused to remove my data, violating privacy laws. During the process of requesting the uploading of a file, disclosure is provided during the application process in **************** concerning supporting documentation that pertains to employment which confirms start and end dates. A message appears that asks the applicant to redact any information regarding salary, wages, earnings, benefits, or pay history from all documents that are submitted for employment verification prior to uploading. Additional notation is made that PDF, JPG and PNG files are supported, and the maximum file size is 20MB.An email sent to you requests that you please upload redacted documents so that your uploaded unredacted documents can be deleted. Once the redacted documents are uploaded, please respond to the email address listed in our email so that the unredacted versions can be deleted.
