What a joke of a company. They are horrible on the phone and they had to give us a refund because we never even got access to our storage. We got no key. No gate code. We never got ahold of the storage. We have gone multiple times to the physical storage office and NO ONE is ever there. I have picture proof because it is ridiculous. We went to a whole different storage facility that is way better and can actually be in there office when they say they will be.Review from Linda G

Had horrible problem with rodent in my 3 storages. Told April about it, and she gave me the forms for the insurance. It took me months to go thru my stuff, I had 3. 10x2os. I called to have the forms emailed to me again as I couldnt find the ones she gave me and she said that she cant send out. She said I could pick them up the next week. When she returned to work she called me and said that I didn't reach out to my higher up and it will take us some time to go ahead and take I will take them . We will need some time to go ahead and go through the ***tairs move out box . While I'm waiting for my higher *** to get back to me about the approval for having you over the forms, I will be doing that ( was her message on my voice mail) was her message. So basically they are with holding the documents from me. By law you have over a year to file your claim. So watch your items so you dont get damage they do not help with insurance.. And their management does not provide an ethical nor professional business practiceReview from Kenneth C

One star Lol there should be **** stars. Stay away and save yourself the agony. This place is absolutely horrible. When I first signed a contract my rent was around 130 a month its currently 184. They charge fees on top of fees on top of fees. Manager ***** will stalk you and call everyday every hour. I finally had to threaten to repot him to the authorities for harassment. It you are late they file a lien against the contents of your storage the call you every hour or email or robo calls. Personally. Its borderline extortion. Im a month and 5 days late currently and from 130 a month Im being charged almost $500.00 of they are treating to auction my stuff off in 12 days. Im paying the bill but I have asked for copy of all my records to date and moving my stuff to a reputable storage facility. Im reporting the business To the Better Business Bureau and any agency that govern storage facilities,. I will also be filing a lawsuit in Riverside County against this company, Like I said, stay far far far away, unless you want to be stocked, harassed, and extorted,.************************************* 07/05/2023StorAmerica Management Response

In fact, our staff went above and beyond to help you, and your response was Ill pay when I pay. Our prices and increases are very reasonable for the self storage industry. Likewise, the lien and auction sale you refer to is the remedy provided to all self storage operators per the California Self Storage Facilities Act for delinquent accounts like yours. In addition to disputing your defamatory and false statements, we also want to point out that while you purportedly lament the price increasing since you first became a tenant, your account was in fact delinquent from the very beginning. Worst customer service! They don't know how to do business professionally, very tacky and they charged to much and prove gouging they signed me up at ***** a month then they fired the lady that signed me up then they raised my rent not every three months like they said but every two weeks!!! They took too much money I have proof that I've been paying every time on time. Raising the rent to almost 300. A month for a 10x10 and now they won't tell me if we got broken into.Review from Abreanna M

Worse experience. I rented my unit on Saturday at StoreAmerica in Avondale and was going to move in on Sunday . I rented movers to move into my unit, so I had a whole moving truck filled with my belongings and when we went to the unit we could not gain access inside the facility. The lady in the office gave us the wrong code to get into the gates. We tried 5 different times to get in and nothing worked. So there I was with a whole moving truck and no where to go. So I had to rent another unit somewhere else. And I had to pay my movers for an extra two hours because I had a hard time trying find another unit that was open on a Sunday. I expect the facility to hold up their end of my contract, and refund me my money and pay for the inconvenience with my movers. The office for this storage is closed on Sundays and they do not offer customer service support for this type of situation. Maybe I should have checked the code the day I rented the unit but I expected the company to fullfill their duties and know what they are doing, I shouldn't have to double check their work especially for a new facility.They will not refund my money and they will not accept liability on their end! So if you live in the area I don't recommend this storage facility.Customer Response

I have a video of me and my husband trying to get into the facility and the gate would not open. The message on the key pad kept stating access denied. When I spoke to the store manager he was very rude and he kept stating it could've been an electrical problem with the gate but their were other residents inside the gate moving as well. So I know for sure my code was given to us incorrectly and it was the employees fault. I never step foot inside my unit and my personal lock is not even on my unit. The only time I was on the property was the day I rented my unit and the employee was showing us how big it was before I signed the lease. So I don't understand why they won't refund my money if I never place any of my belongings inside the unit or ever step inside the unit after I signed the lease.StorAmerica Management Response

My sister died October 1st. My mother lives in GA. I live in *********** and my mother sister lives in *********** we have been trying for almost 4 1/2 months to access her storage. We have submitted 3 death certificates, notarized paperwork, gone back and forth and still getting the run a round. Now the person I have been dealing with is no longer working there. And ************** has the nerve to tell me he can not give me the number to the corporate office he will call me in a day or two. The storage **** is now due again. Another month of trying to get my dead sisters belongings. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS STORAGE SITE.Review from Monica C

Abysmal customer service at best. Think **** at their worst. After renting a storage unit my key wasn't working on the lock I purchased from their storage facility after locking it.I contacted the onsite property manager at ********* Storage, (StorAmerica) . She gave me the number to a local locksmith and told me to have him come and cut the lock off. I was not physically at the storage facility and I paid the locksmith on the phone with my credit card, he came and cut the lock off in order for my movers to store my belongings.A few months later I hired movers to go back to the storage facility and move my belongings to my new home. I called three weeks prior to the move, and spoke to the onsite manager at ********* Storage again to confirm the process because I would not be there, was out of state, and the movers would not have the keys. She said she couldn't cut the lock off but we (me or the movers) could do so. I made sure the movers had a bolt cutter. My movers showed up as scheduled, and the manager ran up to them and kicked them out. I called and was told that they are not allowed on the property, and cannot cut the lock off of my unit. She said I would need to complete a legal document she would email to me, have it notarized, scan and email back to her, and at some point someone would review it and get back to me. I was paying movers $250.00/hr. There was a resulting 6 hour delay which caused movers to book a hotel for the night and delayed my move by one entire day! Because of the incorrect information given to me by their onsite manager, and her sluggish, non responsive behavior, I paid thousands of dollars extra for a simple move. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
