The Autopom policy looked really good when I purchased it.. One thing that was not clear was labor costs and costs of parts are limited.. This is not transparent in the policy fine print... ****** X3 was at the dealership for an issue. I found out that maximum payout for Autopom was $160 an our for labor and $110 for the part.. The Dealerership wanted $265 an hour for the labor and $250 for the part... So $245 came out of my pocket to cover what the Autopom policy would pay for labor and parts.. Autopom uses a statistical average to use as a labor and parts price guide.. The Statisitcs and data come from an independent research company that they probably own or have some type of mutual relationship with.. ******** on average labor and parts costs is nowhere close to actual values as of September 2024.. As a result be prepared to pay out of pocket for part of labor costs and parts costs.. I'm lucky there was only an hour of labor on my car.. If there had been several hours and more parts involved I could have been out of Thousands of dollars.. Beware!! Don't get stuck like I did.. Once you are stuck at the dealership, you may be forced to pay a big diagnostic fee, even if you don't have the work done. i have been with autopom for about two years now, and never made a claim'Three weeks ago i made a claim on my car i went through the process that was given to me by their claims department' the said that i need to take my car to a ASE certified shop and i would have to pay for them to put it on the machine/Diagnostic testings. I did everything they told me. i went to pick up my car and paid for the tests done and the shop said that they talked with Autopom and autopom said that they will contact me, autopom never contacted me i had to contact them and when i called them know one seems to know what i am talking about and then they said it , they were waiting on my payment to clear or something so i followed up and there was nothing wrong with my payment i was paid up, then they sent me to customer service and then customer service would transfer me to claims this went on for three week, i even called **************** whom is supposed to be my representative or liaison for autopom . i called him again him and autopom again on August 5/2024 i left a message and i could never get through to anyone, as long as i have been with them i have never had a problem with getting through to them until i made a claim with them and now i an getting the run around and no return calls or anything, i would not recommend these people to anyone. they do not live up to their word unless it's in their contract in getting your car serviced but they will make sure they send you out your payment statement. here it is August 6, 2024 and i have not yet heard anything from them. they neeed to be investigated. i do not want to deal with them anymore. i am sure some of these reviews they have something in common. i want back what i paid into this warranty i dont anything else to do with themautopom! THIS WAS THE RESPONSE AFTER WAITING 2 MONTHS FOR A REFUND!!Copied from your policy:"CANCELLATION PROVISIONS: If this Contract is cancelled within the first thirty (30) days from the Contract sale date and no claims have been filed, then You will receive a full refund. If this Contract is cancelled after thirty (30) days past the Contract sale date or after a claim has been filed, then You will receive a pro rata refund less any claims paid under this Contract. Pro rata refunds are determined by multiplying the amount You paid for this Service Contract by the lesser of the following: (a) the number of covered days remaining on the Service Contract divided by the original number of covered days, or (b) the miles of remaining coverage under the Service Contract divided by the original number of covered miles. A cancellation fee of $75 will be charged for all pro rata cancellations made by the Contract Holder From your purchase date, 06/19/2023, 23.9% of the policy term has passed and is considered "used" with 76.1% of policy time remaining. In total, your policy cost was $3,625.20. Since you were on a payment plan, the amount you've paid toward the coverage has to be added to the calculation as well.To calculate your prorated refund, you start by taking the 23.9% of the contract total $3,625.20 which equates to $866.42. As the "used" amount, this would get subtracted from the amount you have paid toward the policy.You paid a total of $1759.76. After subtracting the "used" amount, your prorated refund would calculate to $893.34. From there, any claims paid along with the cancellation fee are deducted.You had $1,110.10 paid in claims, so unfortunately no refund is due because the claims paid under your agreement exceeded the calculated prorated refund.autopom! After receiving this review, I called and had a cordial conversation with the customer, who expressed his belief that we owed him approximately $570 based on his calculations. During our discussion, I guided him through our calculations, which align with the terms of the contract. Nevertheless, the customer maintained that our figures were inaccurate. I asked him to email me his calculations, but I have yet to receive them. I reassured the customer that I would gladly issue a refund for any amounts owed if he could demonstrate that our calculations do not comply with the policy terms.It's important to note that refund calculations can vary by state and by policy. All policies are filed with the state where the customer resides, and refund calculations are clearly documented in the customers agreement. ********************** strictly adheres to these guidelines.Customer Response

Autopom,, the company that just 3rd party sells for NAAC (NORTH AMERICAN AUTO CARE) will tell you everything is covered until you put a claim in like I did after a year of the beginning of the contract. North ****************** was who they tell you to call and I was denied a claim for my catalytic converter which said they do cover in the policy. I was told by my attorney to tell them that he reviewed the contract and I am covered. Two more attempts to get them to cover it finally worked. They paid $1,100 but I had to paid them $100 deductible and close to $2,000 when I sold the vehicle and did not need to keep the policy. As you see they will not refund anything after cancellation and it's almost impossible to get them to pay for a claim. Two stars is being very nice.Review from Raygan D

Whenever I needed support or guidance, AutoPom has always been there to address my concerns, lend an ear, offer recommendations, and stand up for me, regardless of how many instances it required. I have received numerous phone calls from the company's owner on multiple occasions.This organization functions as a middleman, serving as a mediator between the parties involved. They engage in negotiations on behalf of both you and the extended warranty company. Well, thats what they did for me. Regrettably, there have been multiple cases where extended warranty companies have refused to honor claims submitted by repair facilities. The extended warranty provider declines a portion of the claim, resulting in me having to agree to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars. If it's expected to be included, then absolutely not!Every time, I politely call AutoPom and ask if this is covered, or if this is considered "ordinary" or within the usual range. I have no expertise in mechanics or law. I am familiar with the terms of my contract. There have been instances where I was mistaken. To ensure my complete comprehension, they kindly clarified the specifics by mentioning the possibility of taking my car to an alternate repair shop, and all my other rights. During that period, they went to the extent of assisting me in locating a warranty-covered shop within my town, and towing company. They offer military discounts, cover older cars with high mileage, reward loyalty, and paying off your contract early or in full. I have had two Volkswagens covered through them that both have had over 130k miles and now will be covered with full extended warranties through 250k miles. You wont find another company that will beat that!autopom! Response

I don't often write reviews but all I can say is WOW. I did my research on extended warranties as I was buying a 2016 escalade that had only 22k miles back in 2020 and I know electronic failures can be expensive. Here I am in 2023 and I had to make 2 claims at the same time regarding my engine lifters going bad and my navigation unit not working. I called **** in the beginning really to just ask for advice on submitting a claim. He warned me that the warranty company would only pay a certain hourly rate and I could get stuck with the rest. Because I felt my issues were serious I went to the dealership. The discrepancy was $40 dollars an hour difference out of pocket. I again called **** to just see what he thought because I was going to have to come out of pocket for the difference. **** told me to send over the repair order when I got it and we left it there. I was out of office all the next day but got a voicemail from the dealer servicing department stating that it looked like the warranty company offered more. Today it dawned on me that **** might have had something to do with that so I called and I was right. **** pulled the average hourly rates from that zip code and sent them over to the warranty company and they agreed saving me $600. **** went above and beyond and this is real service. It seems like you hardly get service from anyone any more. I'm not saying **** is going to pull a rabbit out of a hat but he just might. I can't thank you enough and I'm super glad that I bought this extended warranty. I know I could have had the job done cheaper but I chose to go with dealer more for their expertise on the problem. If was something simpler, I would go to a reputable local mechanic. Thanks again ****! We recently brought our car in for a routine 110k service on Aug 4th, during which our mechanic noted a couple of issues, the total cost of which to repair came in at around $3000. The owner of the shop immediately contacted Claims, but was told our warranty had expired. In pulling our contract at home, it stated the expiration date was Aug 5th, not Aug 4th as Claims had indicated. My very first instinct was to contact ****, the owner at Autopom. A nicer, more down-to-earth, man you couldn't find. I explained our problem in detail, and he, too, verified through his records the same expiration of Aug 5th. **** and his team worked diligently and tirelessly for days through every level of the Claims arm of the company with one goal in mind-to ensure that they would fully honor the terms of the contract as it was written. And that is precisely what they accomplished. The claim was re-opened, an inspector came to the auto shop and evaluated the car, a report was written and, within 2 days, we received a call from the owner of the shop. Of the roughly $3000 requested, just a shade under $2800 was approved! That's over 93 pct that we didn't have to come up with out-of-pocket. To say we were elated is a mild understatement! Had it not been for ****'s persistence in trying to do what he knew his customer deserved, none of this would have happened and we would have been much worse off for it financially. So I bought a extended warranty though ******** back in I believe July or August of 2022. It is now May of 2023 and my transmission started acting up. I called ******** and told them I was taking to the shop. Well after my truck was looked at and they set out the guy to look at my truck, they denied my claim. They said that my truck has a leveling kit and over sized tires on it (and it does). I told them up front that it had all that when I purchased the plan and everything was good. Well no it is not. I am giving them 5 stars because the owner of ******** call me to express his concerns with me and that he offered me a 100% refund plus extra some on top of the full refund. I talked with the owner for like 20 mins and he was sorry that this happened. I was expecting to receive 100% refund and he went above and beyond to help me out. I'm still having to pay out of pocket for my transmission rebuild but with him going above and beyond it made me feel better and to know that he did not have to do what he did but he did it anyways. I'm sure people will say he has the money so he should pay for the repair but he did more than he was obligated to give. In my book the way he handled my issue speaks alot about the company he has built. He did alot more than other companies would ever do, and for that when my wife's vehicle runs out of factory warranty I will use them. It was unfortunate what happened to me with my warranty but I feel he was beyond good with me.autopom! Response

It the world auto world, especially insurance and warranty - it seems more and more these days it's hard to find good honest salesmen... putting these words together lends itself to almost being oxymoronic. Not when it comes to Autopom. I had the pleasure of working with ****, the owner I believe, and he/the company provides straightforward and truthful advice, really looking out for their customers. Have to say That on my last review i was upset about the outcome of my claim but after a lengthy conversation with the President ******* we came to an agreement that I was satisfied with. He was able to make everything right. Thank you to autopom! for the quick response and understanding in resolving this matter. That means a lot that these guys took the time to do this. Will use Autopom! in the future. *****
