I brought my bike to cycle depot and it took well over 3 months for them to fix it they used alexcuses of "We are moving slow because of the heat" etc. Finally 3 months later they call me and tell me they fixed everything and it's ready to ride so I pick it up I pay just for the bike to break down the same day I get it out the shop. I call them back and tell them they didn't properly fix it and they send a mechanic to pick it up and the mechanic eyeballs a few issues. He sees my key ignition it broken I told him they said they fixed it he noticed my peg shifter is dangerously loose I told him they said my peg shifter fluid is leaking so maybe they didn't put it back on right. It was turning off while idling and would stay running and turning off while I was riding it until finally it turned off and wouldn't turn back on. This happens the first day I take it out and they tell me everything is fixed. My bike being in the shop is affecting my work and personal life it turned off while I was doing 50mph which is dangerous. I just want them to refund me or fix my bike the right way. After telling me it's fixed it shouldn't be breaking down the first it gets out the shop if they would've test rode it like they said they did they would've noticed these issues.

      Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/11/10) */ ******'s bike came in not running on 7/22/02 for repairs. He wanted us to check rear tire, head light not working and running issues. We determined that the rear tire was still good, bike would start with jumper cables and needed multiple parts to repair; starter, fuses, starter solenoid switch, replacement headlight & battery. ****** approved the parts and the labor and was given different options for headlights, he refused and choose his own headlight option, and send it to us. Once we received all the parts and got his bike running we further discovered that the bike didn't run well the petcock was leaking and also from a fuel tube. We called for approval for additional parts and labor (carb clean). ****** then told me that he couldn't afford it, but got paid in one week and if we could hold of on doing the work for one week. I told ****** that it was fine it would take some time to get the parts and complete the labor anyways. He understood and approved. After completing all the work and test rides, we released the bike to ******. He called back later that day saying that the bike had died and was not able to get it started. I told him a few things to check to make sure he was starting it correctly, and also check if it had gas, he said that the gauge said it had gas but could also be incorrect, so he put some gas and could not get it to start and explained to him that we could tow it but if it wasn't related to the work what we did there would be a charge, he agreed. Once we received the motorcycle here we were able to start it no problem, in regards to the shifter, it is not original and it is an aftermarket shifter that was not installed by us and was not properly. We were able to tighten it and as we did, found that modifications needed to be made to secure it properly, at no charge. We did that at no charge. Since then we've been starting and test riding it with out experiencing any issues. ****** called for an update, I told him that we've been starting it and test riding it since it got back without any issues and have been trying to get it to fail so we can diagnose the failure. ****** then said he just want to pick up the bike to get to work, I then told him that because we haven't got it to fail we were unable to find any issues with the bike and could not guarantee that it would not fail on him, he understood. ****** arrived to pick up the bike and showed him that it started with no issues, I then asked when he was having trouble starting it what he was doing. He also showed me a video of what was happening when he could not get it started. The video clip showed him starting the motorcycle with the button for only a few seconds. He said that he was using the choke and giving it gas (throttle) at the same time, I told him that procedure was incorrect. He either needed to one or the other and not both at the same time. He understood. I also explained that since the failure was unrelated to the work that we did that there would be a charge for the tow. I had already waived the re-diagnose and discounted the tow by 50%. ****** then said that didn't have cash and could pay cash app, we do not accept cash app. He offered to call back for payment and I told him to not worry about the charges we would just waive the fee. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2022/11/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I wanted to make sure the job got finished and I wasn't being taken advantage of. The bike still doesn't start majority of the time or stay running, it'll sometimes still turn off while running or sometimes not even start. Sometimes it'll while start and run fine other times I'll have to leave it and take public transportation. Yesterday (11/13/2022) it turned off while riding at 45mph I pulled over and luckily was able to get it to start back up again. Thursday 11/10/2022 it died while riding and couldn't get it to start and I had to call a tow truck, but I have decided to take it to a different mechanic to resolve the issues it still might have moving forward.
