In the process of purchasing a home, we had a general inspection. The general inspection recommended a separate inspection by an electrician specifically because of irregularities in the electrical work. Our agents, **********, *************** and ************** arranged for an electrician to do an inspection. We received an email with a document attached that was the inspection report from the electrician with itemized repairs needed and price estimates listed for a total of approximately $******. We presented this report as well as other inspection reports to the seller in a request for repairs. After negotiation, a final credit from the seller was agreed upon for $******. The most important items needing repair to us were the electrical items. After all contingencies had been removed, we called the electrician to try to set up a day for the needed repairs to commence. In discussion with the electrician, he stated that the inspection report and price quotes that he sent to our agent and representatives had a total of approximately $****** and forwarded my husband (**************) the email he sent to ***************. ***** then sent him the inspection report that we received from ******** with the name and license number of the electrician on it. The electrician confirmed that was not the numbers he sent. We called the agent and explained our confusion. He stated he didn't have any idea and would call ******** to try to get clarification. On a joint call with *****, ******** and ******* it came to light that ******** admitted to altering the document from the electrician and sending it as if it was from him with his name and license number. She felt the electrician's cost estimates were too high and she had concern about deals falling through. We had accepted the credit and proceeded with the purchase based on falsified documents and fraud. In calling ********** as the team leader, his response was unprofessional and threatening.
