I bought tickets to enjoy an adventure day at ******************************************** on Aug 26th for my family. It was a total of 140 dollars. It was through Boy Scouts. The day of the adventure I got really sick. I could not drive my family 2 hours to their center. I emailed the Boy Scout leader and told them we were unable to make it, the leader then told the center I was sick and asked for a refund. The center told them no. I called the center when I was well to explain what happened and the center director again told me no and they would rather have me come sick and infect everyone than refund my money. ******************** the director then also told me they would doc the employees pay if they refunded me, which I thought was odd. At some point we ended the conversation with her agreeing that the center could refunded me on Moral Obligations. She then promptly hung up. After a week of not hearing anything I emailed her. She went back on her word and said that like she told me before she could not refund me. At this point I contacted BBB.Business response

The individual who is submitting the complaint was never promised a refund, I said I would speak to my executive director about it. Because we have a contract with the group, not her as an individual, we are unable to fulfill her request. Our contract, which we have signed from the Boy Scouts Troop, states that any changes to the amount of people coming up would need to be told to us 5 days before the event. Therefore, all refund requests need to go to the Boy Scout Troop, not to us. We are a small non-profit organization who had already put out money for the costs incurred by the group.
