I brought my cylinder heads in to be resurfaced and repaired. After 3 weeks when I finally got them back , they were unusable and both for the passenger side. The work was shotty and the camshafts were missing bolts.

      Business response

      03/19/2024

On February 9th, which was a Friday, ************ left his cylinder heads with us and by Tuesday February 13th we notified ************ that his heads were no good and the work he requested could not be performed.
At that time ************ claimed that was not an issue and he would provide a second set of heads that he would acquire from a junk yard for us to check out, which he supplied approximately by February 20th.Around February 22nd, we notified ************ that the second set of heads were also in very poor condition and without repair the service he originally requested could not be completed.
************ agreed to the repairs, but was also informed there where parts missing that were needed to perform the originally discussed work.2-3 days later, so roughly by February 27th Mr. ***** father delivered a box with the remaining parts.
On February 29th, ************ was contacted that the repairs and original service request were complete. He arrived shortly after to pay for and pick up the heads.
On March 10th, we received emails from ************ stating his unhappiness with the job completed. He was indicating that we preformed work on 2 left bank heads instead of 1 left and 1 right bank heads.
On March 11th, ************ made contact over the phone and spoke with *****************. Later that afternoon, ************ came in to meet with ************** and the machinists to discuss the issues with the job. After hearing his complaint, ************** agreed to reimburse ************ for the services we provided, returning his money in full so ************ could go buy a new set of heads. The agreement was that we would retain Mr. ***** old cylinder heads and all parts required for them.
On March 16th, a Saturday, ************ came into our office shortly after 8:00am demanding to speak to **************, whom was not here.I asked ************, whom I did not meet prior to this incident on the 16th,if there was something I could do for him. In the beginning of the conversation, ************ was very vague in why he was here and he started demanding his refund, exclaiming that he would just wait for him(**************) to arriveor that he would go to **************** house to wake him over this dispute. After I encouraged him not to pursue ************** at his residence, I asked again if there was anything I could do to assist him, at this point is when ************ divulged that this was over some cylinder heads.  As I was not a part of the original discussions with ************, I quickly realized who he was and why he was here, and asked him to follow me to the machine shop to settle this dispute. While talking with our machinist, ************, whom had previously provided us with 2 sets of heads, explained that he did not have the remaining pieces to the heads, which was part of the original agreement to reimburse his money. After hearing this, I still directed ******, our machine shop associate; to go ahead and refund ************ for the amount he spent with us, despite not having all the pieces we needed. With his confrontational demeanor and threats of pursuit to someones personal residence, I felt settling the matter at the time was the best course of action to prevent any further escalation over this situation and to settle the dispute.
In closing, as of March 16th, ************ received full reimbursement for the services we provided, while also retaining 1 of the completed heads he installed on his vehicle, all while not supplying us with the remaining pieces he and ************** agreed to.
