*********************, CEO, of Special Learning is engaging in illegal and unethical practices. She is a bully, cruel and abusive to her staff. She refuses to pay employees for time worked/wages owed. She slanders employees that leave the company, blaming them for her financial ruin. She impulsively buys platforms and tools costing ****k dollars, but then doesnt pay payroll to the employees.She currently owes me final wages totaling over 5k and is refusing to pay me.People need to know how she operates, since she claims to be an amazing ethical company.Initial Complaint

The owner of Special Learning, ********************* talks a great game but is unable to deliver. She makes promises to clients that she cannot deliver on and ends up falling short financially and is unable to pay the staff. The work environment is extremely toxic (even though fully remote) and the expectation is that employees will be available at all hours even though they are not paid consistently. Instead of laying off staff, she continues to hire. Out of the 7.5 weeks that I worked at SL, I was only paid for 4 weeks. After I gave notice, I sent a notice to ***** of what I was still owed in salary. She refuted the amount and calculated what she owes me as net rather than gross. She did not pay my state taxes once while I was employed, and one payment was completed via PayPal with no taxes deducted or pay stub presented. When I expressed concern about the unethical way she was handling payroll, she said that since I am no longer employed and am displeased with how she is trying to handle the payroll issue she was removing me from the repayment plan. When my attorney sent a letter demanding payment, she said she was unable to pay and said that she never said she refused to pay me (which I have in writing from her). She has mental health issues which she proclaims to both employees and clients and uses this as an excuse to cause chaos and make bad business decisions. She owes clients refunds and employees back pay and cannot deliver on either. She publicly shames employees in video meetings even though they are doing their best ad are continuing to do so even without compensation. Last week's payroll was submitted but was reversed when her finds did not clear. This has happened multiple times. Please have received direct deposits but they were then reversed. Additionally, employees went 2 months without pay early in summer of 2022.
