I wasted time, money, and effort using them and in the end hired a local designer to do my yard. I am seeking full refund for the project which I have requested. Only had 15 or 30 min time slots (rushed) to meet with a Yardzen rep. ***** met with the designer to complete my yard. Felt like the "telephone game" where you start with what you want and when you get the design it is nothing like you communicated. All designs very AI/boilerplate! If it was realistic, that would be okay, but it was very "cartoon-ish", fake, unrealistic. I spend hours sending them very specific, ideas, looks, photos, and videos. What I received looked like an unexperienced graphic design project at a high school level. Since they are not local to where I live, plants just not a good fit for climate. I have asked for and am seeking $2200 back. I expected to meet with a designer to realize my vision. That never happened. I had two re-designs and even hired the company they requested. Since they could not use the plan Yardzen provided, I am out money with them as well. I've reached out and asked for refund. I hear crickets. This whole process has cost me thousands of dollars and NO useable plan.

Yardzen is a ****. They charged $1500 to provide designs in 6 weeks. I went ahead. The first draft was decent but there were many gaps from the requests I had. Given they only give one final edit. I provided detailed feedback on - Make the make yard child safe/appropriate. - Suggest plants and trees which are drought friendly. And there were around 10 other requests. They gave back final design with almost the same as first. Most importantly, their design is dangerous for a child, poisonous plants and several sharp cornered slabs. Many trees placed next to each other would just die. Also, they suggested things to buy which doesnt come in the color they so in the design. Its a pathetic experience, they dont get your needs, dont talk to you, and doesnt fix whats wrong. Would never recommend them to anyone.

YardZen is a ****. They charge a big fee for a design rendering and claim to set you up with local plants and a local contractor to implement the design . But in reality, after you get the rendering youre on your own. I instead of giving me a few contractor referrals, They only gave me one local contractor referral who flaked on me so I was left with nothing. Id spent $1000 on a pretty picture of what my yard could look like with no practical value. They didnt source local plants as promised. They also didnt listen to my real wants or needs. Also, during the design process, they were incredibly hard to communicate with. Zero follow up, zero accountability and didnt listen to my recommendations just sent back very basic and generic designs.

Before I signed up for their services I would see community members asking if anyone has used YardZen before. I figured I would give it a try - and I'm here to report. Yardzen is a "OZ" like figure with no accountability and their folks hide behind email addresses.They will not 1) recommend a fence material (when the fence person comes they will ask do you want horizontal, vertical, cedar, etc.) YardZen offers nothing. "Fences aren't typically included in these measurements". My design had a gate with no fence... like a gate to nothing, you could walk around the gate. 2) recommend hardscaping materials (do you want to do concrete or sand? real stone or fake paver? "At this time, we don't offer exact materials recommendations, as availability may differ depending on your area. Typically, your contractor will be able to provide you with some material references either on-site or by directing you to a few local shops as they have the best knowledge of what is available near you. " - good luck with your budget and trying to figure out what they "assumed" So, at the end of the day I found little value. Your local hardscaper would be better served as they will talk you about stones, pavers, etc.
