Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a dispute with Espin Bikes concerning the ongoing quality issues I have experienced with their product, as well as the costs I have incurred due to these issues.I purchased an Espin bike a little over a year ago. Upon arrival, the bike was damaged in transit, with a broken front fork. Espin sent a replacement part, however, I noticed over time that there were other unseen damages likely incurred during shipping.The most significant issue has been with the brakes and calipers of the bike, which have repeatedly leaked, affecting the bike's performance and safety. Despite reporting these concerns to Espin multiple times, the issues have not been satisfactorily resolved.I took the bike to a local shop for assessment. The bike shop owner contacted Espin's support team, indicating that the calipers included in the bike build were of poor quality. Espin eventually offered to replace the brakes with the same model, Zoom HB-875e, once their shipment arrives. However, they stated that the replacement would be invoiced, despite the ongoing issues and safety concerns this particular part has presented.Considering the safety risk and the repeated failures of this brake model, I declined the offer for a replacement of the same part, especially at additional cost to me. While Espin mentioned that they chose these brakes mostly for cost and supply considerations, it seems this decision has led to quality issues that have affected the bike's safety and performance.I am requesting that Espin Bikes either refund the repair and part costs I have incurred due to these ongoing issues or replace the faulty hardware with a safer and higher-quality alternative.Given the safety implications of this issue and the costs I have incurred trying to resolve it, I believe this is a reasonable request.
