Late September 2023, I attempted to order a Sunset Subscription via their website for $24.95 for myself and a gift subscription advertised for $9.99. After inputting all my personal and card information, I got an error message when I hit the complete button. The message said the transaction did not go through and to try again later. I tried again and got the same error message. I tried again a few days later with the same result. I gave ** in disgust. Suddenly there's two (2) $24.95 charges on my card from Sunset totaling $49.90. I sent them 2 emails (one through their website and the other through their customer service email.) I also tried to contact them by phone but gave up after being on hold for about an hour. In my initial email, I requested one of the charges be converted to the $9.99 gift subscription, but I have never heard back from them. So I don't know if one of the charges had been converted to a gift account. I'm assuming not, since they have never bothered to contact me to get this resolved.I went online and was able to access my new account and I cancelled my subscription, but I want my $49.90 back. Sunset use to be a respected magazine, but now I don't want to have anything to do with a business who thinks so little of their prospective subscribers. I sent another email today. I don't have a copy of the first email since I sent it through their website rather than an email.
