I hired this company to develop an ecommerce website for my small business located in *************, **. Despite several delays and misrepresentation of cost to develop, I paid what they requested and continued with them. This process started in November of 2023 to the best of my recollection. The site was only fully functional for about a month...starting in Feb of 2024. I noticed last week that my site had a RED FLAG WARNING of an *** ********** I emailed the developer asking what that was about. He called me and stated that ****** had flagged my site and basically I needed to pay approx $1800 to correct. I contacted a local web designer in *************, ** and she stated that something wasn't right, and I agreed as I've had many misgivings the whole time......always asking for more money. $2450 to "host" the site for 5 years. I told *************************, the developer that his company had created the website and should have known about *** *********** After speaking with his manager, ************************* and their cybosecurity person *******************, I now need to pay $2500 to have this corrected. Meanwhile, I have contacted the federal division of *** and they said that they would never block sites or disrupt business....I received an email from *************** that stated I was in violation but it didn't come from ada.gov, the official website. Their cybosecurity person, ******************* stated they had seen this scam before....and again I need to pay $2500 to correct. Also, this company has changed my password on WordPress, giving me no access the website that I have paid for in full....holding me ****** for an additional $2500. They have changed the password on the host service as well. I have disputed the charges with AMEX but no guarantee that I will get that money back. I have lost potential income as a result, not to mention the embarrasment of people seeing that on my website.
