Initiallymyson(*******)andmyself(ElizabethMargaretRoberts)afterourtimeattheDMVwewenttoCaliorniaSmogCheckCenter,********************************** on May 22, 2024. The vehicle did not ***** nitially because of a dirty air filter. My son (*******) l Ieft there and drove to Auto Zone where he purchased an air filter and a can of smog mass. He had to disconnect the battery to install the new air filter, because my son had disconnected the battery my son was asked to put about 100 miles on the vehicle. We were charged the firstday $49.90. On my son (*******) return the fowllling day the vehicle passed and we were charged $49.95. I called later that day to ask an explanation of the charges that is were my complaint comes into play. I was told the initial amount was $69.95 and half of that is $39.00 and then $8.25 for the certificate and $1.75 for electronic trans fee, to bring total of $49.95. I come up with half of $69.95 is $34.98. But there is no signage that I saw indicating the price is $69.95, I asked my son (*******) he had seen any signage to indicate $69.95, he had not. The only place you can see this amount $69.95 is on your receipt, which is given to you at the end of your transaction.
