I recently hired Need For Build to install a retaining wall and replace my driveway. While I am happy with the build quality, I chose them over the competition because of their Price Match Guarantee, which it turns out they do not honor.When they provide estimates, they give a Base Price and a "First Visit Price" that's 15% off the Base Price. They also guarantee that they will price match a lower estimate AND pay 10% of the difference (in cash) between their price and the matched estimate. A couple days after I signed with Need For Build, I received an estimate that was almost $10k less than their bid, which I then submitted to them for a price match. They proceeded to string me along for two and a half months, dodging several requests for an update, and eventually went quiet on me.My takeaway for others: do not trust their sales process, say no to the "First Visit Price", and shop around for other estimates, since their Price Match Guarantee is meaningless and won't be honored. I would definitely have used them for other projects had they honored their word, but moving forward I'll be looking elsewhere and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

We both know that Your project came out beautifully and will look like that for a long time, we really dont think we deserve a 1 star review.Thank you for doing your due diligence and searching for other companies for our "Price Match Guarantee".We really appreciate it because this is what holds us accountable to our quality, craftsmanship and Warranties.Your commitment to hold us to our standards of integrity is what we strive for.After extensive research on the company you provided us a bid from sent us including calling them and talking with them several times ourselves we found out that isn't a true warranty.They can not provide an actual warranty certificate.They DO NOT offer a warranty on craftsmanship, only the Lifetime manufacturer warranties with the pavers themselves (which we also offer)We provided you with a "Paver Forever System Warranty"1) 10-Year Workmanship Warranty 2) Company Selected Lifetime Warranty 3) Joint San and Stabilizer 10 Years Warranty 4) Weeds Prevention Warranty 5) Pavers Shifting Warranty 6) Triple Transferable Warranty We also state that 'Need For Build' is the only company that will service you if any issues arise.They have a bunch of disclosures like this "This warranty will NOT cover the cost of repair for anything that occurs which is beyond our control. In addition, WE DO NOT COVER including but not limited to overloading, impact, abrasion, commercial use, improper or insufficient maintenance, scratching or scuffing of pavers, lack of traction on or slipperiness of joint sand stabilizers, or efflorescence in pavers and stonework, insects, animals NEED FOR BUILD warranty is non-exclusive. (meaning if you have any issues, call us and we will fix it, no matter what happens)On top of all the above, they dont mention in detail what their installation process is for the pavers or the walls.After calling and talking with them several times, we have found out that they DO NOT install geo-textile, they compact Only Once (1x) and are not using Polymeric Sand but regular joint sand. This is a HUGE deal when you want your driveway to last a lifetime.If they were to do your driveway and the wall the correct way, they would be higher priced than us by adding the geo-textile (which separates the dirt from the roadbase), compacting the correct way (4x) and the polymeric sand which allows your driveway to shift a bit without compromising the integrity while parking on it several times a day.On the wall installation, like on the bid you provided, they wouldnt give us any information unless we schedule an appointment for a bid.Which means to us that they can not warranty the wall like we can.Like every other industry, there are some that are choosing to cut corners and therefore giving a warranty that doesnt cover anything and a price that reflects it.There are also some that will really provide you with a quality product and long years of service backing up their product.We are here for you for the long run. At any time you have issues, call us, and we will gladly get our service team out to fix any issues, especially since you have sent in your warranty card.We want you to be "HANDS OFF" when it comes to your home transformation. You paid for it and are too busy to deal with maintenance.That's our warranty.After a very close examination, it is obvious that our products, installation, and warranty are very different than the bid from the company you provided us and therefore, although we would like to see a change in this industry where companies are doing the right processes and would love to match their prices, on this case we would not be able to do so. Bottom line, for us to price match other companies prices, it has to be an apples to apples match on their warranty, process, licenses, and insurance.We hope you understand and would love to have a long successful relationship with you guys and serve you again In the future.
