Early this year, my neighbor with whom I share a fence contacted the All Fence Company, Inc. to obtain an estimate on fixing a 40' fence with rotten wood rails and posts. I was at work when **** from All Fence came by to inspect our shared fence. While the price they quoted was higher than others, my neighbor insisted on using this company.Neither **** nor the staff contacted me to schedule the installation job. The crew simply showed up one morning with no advance notice right before I was leaving for work so I could not speak with them in full to understand what they were planning on doing. They informed us that we could not reuse the old fence boards because they had rotted, so we agreed to pay extra to have new redwood boards installed. From 08/11-08/12/22, the fence work took two full days to complete. Unfortunately, I had to go to work the next day while they finished the installation. When I returned home that evening, I found that my gate, which runs perpendicular to the replaced fence, was no longer working properly. After their fence work, my gate no longer opens all the way (hits the ground when trying to open it) and cannot latch either. In addition, the side of the gate that was previously secured to the old post/fence is now detached from the supporting post/fence, so the gate sags.I immediately contacted **** the next day on 08/13/2022 and left him a voicemail to let him know what had happened. I also called the office twice on 08/16 and 08/18, but the office assistant told me on behalf of **** that since they did not replace the gate, they were under no obligation to fix it.However, All Fence is still liable because their work on the fence damaged my gate. The crew temporarily removed my gate in order to put in a new post, rails, and boards. They put it back incorrectly and now I have a gate that does not close or open properly. It poses a security concern.I contacted **** and the office 3x and they refused to discuss any means of recourse.

To Whom This May ********************* you for taking the time to read our response to the complaint filed by ************************

On May 6, 2022, our estimator met with Shuih-***** neighbor.  He walked the property and provided their estimate for a new gate and repair portion on the shared fence on May 6,2022.  The estimate was approved and signed on June 1, 2022, by her neighbor.  We proceeded to schedule the project and spoke with ********************* neighbor who was coordinating the project with ************************  We never spoke or met with the ********** prior to the beginning of the project.

The first contact we had with ********** was on the day after the project inquiring about her gate.  The gate and adjoining posts were never removed or touched by our crew as it was not part of the scope of work for the project.  The gate posts have both been cut previously and as seen from Shuih-***** photo that the upper hinge for the gate was placed on the joint of the cut gate post which we feel is improper construction and does not meet industry standards.  The existing 2x4 brace overhead keeps the gate posts from leaning towards one another but does not solve the problem of the rotted gate posts moving front to back when the gate swings open.  We offered to set up an appointment with ********** to give her a price to replace the gate as upon inspection, both gate posts are rotted and there is no diagonal brace on the gate to keep the gate from sagging.  She declined that offer and wants us to repair a gate, which in our professional opinion, is not repairable due to the condition of the posts, age, and construction of the gate.
