I had visited the Loan Center website on Tuesday and had only partially finished the application due to me deciding to wait until my boyfriend got off work later that day. I had already given them my phone number so within MINUTES of me closing the tab I receive a phone call from them. I gave them some extra information as the representative told me we could add my boyfriend and his information to the application later. The representative told me what documents they would need and I explained I would need to submit my bank statements rather than pay stubs due to me getting cash commission and tips. They said that was fine then I explained that before I moved into my apartment recently that I was homeless for over a year and that the address on my ID is wrong so my car registration is expired and that I couldnt get insurance without these documents updated. The representative told me that was fine and that they could work around that and dont require those documents to refinance me.Today (Friday) my boyfriend and I resubmitted the application together and got approved! Our credit took a hard hit and I got prompted to provide proof of income, car insurance, car registration, etc. I called customer service and THIS TIME they tell me ALL documents are mandatory and that there is no working around it. Im furious and crying on the phone because I have NO CLUE why THEY would call ME and lie to me last week when I could have applied through any other lender. I asked the second representative if there was anything we could do to get ** approved because even if I got my car registered TODAY I would likely not get the stickers in on time. He proceeded to hang up on me. I feel mislead, lied to, and cheated out of a hard pull.
