My name is Trn (Tron) ****** and I joined the Sacramento Barre Pavilions Studio on March 23, ************************************************ March 2024. I am writing to submit a complaint and issue resolution regarding ethical advertising and my cancellation request that has being ignored by the business owners. Pure Barre Sacramento co-owners: ****************************** of events: On December 23, 2023, I took advantage of an email promotion for an annual membership and payment was swiftly processed for $1,622. On March 20, 2024, I submitted a cancellation request. It was at that time the cancellation condition for the annual memberships was communicated to me by co-owner **** (I was unable to cancel my annual membership unless I was to move). The restrictive cancellation condition was not indicated in the terms of the offer or communicated via email or phone correspondence. Since then, I have been declined multiple requests for in-person meetings or phone calls with co-owners ************** to discuss my membership and was told it would be unproductive.Escalating issue to Better Business Bureau (BBB): I am escalating this matter to BBB for support and resolution of my cancellation exception and reimbursement. As the studio owners, both **** and ******* did not exercise full duty of care to notify the customer of the restrictive cancellation conditions of the annual membership and were insensitive and inflexible in meeting my health/physical requirements or my increased work and elderly care needs. Suggested Compromise: I paid $1,622 on 12/23/23. As a compromise to the communication gap, I proposed paying the monthly membership I was previously paying ($139) for 3 months from 1/6/24 - 4/6/24 (total of $417) and requesting a reimbursement of the remaining 9 months paid on 12/23/23 totaling a refund request of $1,205. My ask: The business to honor my cancellation exception and refund $1,205 to my credit card on file ending 8706.
