Disputed amount $450; date of payment: 1/04/2022 & 02/03/22. Concerning the **************** location of Discovery Isle located at ************************************************************** I am seeking return of tuition for 01/21/22-01/25/22 and 01/28/22-02/04/22. We were informed a child in our daughter's class had contracted covid 19 and were instructed to keep our child home from 01/04/22-02/04/22. Our child did not have covid and we were billed for the entire period with no service rendered. After returning from quarantine, I inquired about the possibility of a refund and was told that the parent handbook policy was refunds were not granted in such circumstances. I let the representative from the school know that I didn't think it was appropriate or legally acceptable to accept consideration without receiving a service; the representative responded that we had the option of virtual classes however my wife and I both work and not only would we not be able to get my 3 year old to sit still for prolonged instruction but my mother was looking after our child during quarantine and she is completely unfamiliar with technology. I was also informed by the representative at the daycare that at least two families were issued a refund as they had just enrolled. My perspective is that all families experienced the same financial loss so the premise of a family being made whole due to the newness of their enrollment seems invalid. I hope to find a amicable resolution to this disagreement as soon as possible.
