I have been scammed by someone on Paypal. I wasn't even going to report it. I had no idea I could be reimbursed by my bank. Woman there told me they can refund me. They will do an investigation. I am innocent so I thought great. I have been having issues with scammers they thought, I had my account denied, card declined not 1 phone call from Fraud. 1 week I had 5 debit cards declined. I asked the bank to contact me with any questions. i check my account and they put the charge of 1543.80 back in as a debit. I have a check out that could have been declined for affordable housing. They screwed up my chances. I would have appreciated a call back, but no they personally did whatever they wanted without asking me. Paypal took over 700 off my debit card without my approval. They said the person had my IP address. He was on my computer.I called Paypal. Number off the internet, guess its a phising site. I have a letter from Paypal saying they dont even have this particular email address. I even call Paypal last week and they were sending me a way to identify myself, never rec it yet. I also have another scam over 1700 which I didnt even report but I am now. I get harrasses contantly trying to even get to my accounts, but scammers get it all the time. This person gave me another bnumber to call besides tghe number I called Patpal on. he answered, heard the background at Paypal sounds like a business. I asked if they would like the number, but I was told NO!! I was denied because He had my IP address. he was on my computer, should have asked me. i told them he climbed on my system. Issues with my laptop. I sent several request to Paypal. I need that money reversed asap. I have all the proof you should have asked for. I was told to stay away from Paypal. They put another charge thru days after I told them not too. Scammers have more rights than anyone. Look at their phone logs, i have called numerous times at Coast hills. They are negligent.

      Re: Complaint ID 21009057

      Dear Member,

Thank you for taking the time to report your concerns to the Better Business Bureau. We are sorry that you feel we have not adequately addressed your claim.

We conducted an investigation of your complaint and have determined we complied with all aspects of Regulation E, section 1005.11, governing the resolution of debit card claims. We provided provisional credit on the same day you submitted your claim and gave you use of those funds while we conducted our investigation. We notified you in writing the credit was provisional pending the outcome of our investigation and that the funds could be withdrawn if the claim was found to be invalid. On December 12, 2023, based on information obtained from PayPal, we rescinded the provisional credit provided on October 24, 2023, and sent you written notification of the denial of your claim. Further, in compliance with Regulation E, section 1005.11 (d)(2), we have not returned any checks or electronic payments you may have issued against the provisional credit funds.

Your claim was denied based on information provided by PayPal to CoastHills Credit Union. Please contact PayPal if you disagree with their findings. If you have any further questions about this matter, please contact us at 805-733-7600, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Your account has been noted, and your call will be routed to the individual who will assist you further.

      Respectfully,

      CoastHills Credit Union

I had called Paypal. The gal who answered the phone refused to believe me.  She wanted me to take a video. Since this is a scam issue, I said we need another way. For all I know they can put a picture on a dating site. Still had not received the information for us to talk. My bank told me to stay off there. I haven't been on there since. Its shocking to see what they paid out, These are not peer to peer.  I made 2 large requests and no more.  I called Paypal several times.  You knew I was having problems and they created more.I  left several messages  You chose to either delete them or redo them. This person said he worked with the Government before, checking out their app called Pegasus. I looked it up.That was true. He also said he can do just about anything with a computer.  I deleted everything that I didn't download..  Then I find out your site is popular for phishing sites.. Can you explain the invoice attached.  Again this is not me.  I called the bank they would not return my call.  Bank took my entire SSI from my account.. They should have called me. This bank has caused me problems more than I can say.  I'm innocent. I'm not stupid.  Why would I lie to the bank. I wasn't going to mention, the lady at the bank told me. I did everything I was asked and you sides with the scammers.    Bank and Paypal are wrong.    I would like to know why the bank refused to talk to me. Scammers have multiplied since Biden took office.

How about innocent until proven guilty. Infact I have a scam templets. Changed all my passwords. Its a shame, maybe the bank should help me. I would be more than happy to bring my laptop.Help the problem.

On Aug. 4, 2023 my credit card ending in XXXX was declined. On that same day I called the number on the back of the card 1-800-262-4488 and was able to speak to a human who claimed that my credit card was unblocked as of Aug. 4, 2023. Today, Aug. 5, 2023 my credit card was declined again. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any reasonable way to contact Coast Hills - instead I am stonewalled with automated bots that are unable to comprehend English.

      Dear Member,
We apologize for the difficulty you had using your CoastHills credit card on August 4th and 5th. Our records confirm that you did validate the transaction you attempted on August 4th; however, there was an issue with the company from which you purchased a product or service. That issue prevented your second attempt from being approved. Further review indicates your card was not blocked on August 5th, only the transaction with the specific company.

We understand how frustrating it is not to be able to reach a live person when you are trying to solve a problem, and we are investigating why you were unable to reach a Member Service Agent when you needed to on August 5th. Again, please accept our apology for the poor experience you had while trying to resolve your credit card issue. Please contact us at ###-###-#### Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Friday, 9 am to 6 pm. Notes have been added to your account, and your call will be routed to the individual who can assist you further.

      Respectfully,
      CoastHills Credit Union

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 20428012, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Furthermore, thank you for reaching out to me (calling).  In an era where large tech companies make it nearly impossible to talk to a human - getting a call from Coast Hills is greatly appreciated.   And, thank you for explaining the technical details of what had occurred with my credit card on Aug. 4 and Aug. 5.  It was beneficial for me to know that the vendor I had tried to make a purchase with had recently moved their payment processing overseas - thereby causing the two blocked payment attempts. I am happy to report that the vendor must have fixed whatever that issue was - as I have been able to process payment as of August 11, 2023.  Thanks again.
