I would like to start by sharing that myself and my boyfriend have been patrons of Tumbi for 2+ years (over the last year we have done mostly orders for pickup). Tonight we had one of the scariest and shocking experiences while having dinner at Tumbi. After ordering food for pickup at Tumbi we decided to eat at the restaurant in person which we were excited about. We ordered our food and while eating my boyfriend while chewing his food found a metal staple....A METAL STAPLE! Fortunately, he spat out the metal staple and didn't swallow it to avoid further health complications. We both were in utter shock and showed it to the server, *****. We told/showed ***** that there was a metal staple in the food and mentioned which dishes it could have come from and his reaction was nothing. He didn't say a word and walked away to the kitchen. We assumed that he was going to tell the kitchen staff about the incident but then moments later the female server came to ask us "how was the food?" It was obvious that she wasn't told about finding a metal staple so we went ahead and let her know about it. We mentioned that we had told ***** and she asked what he said to us and we let her know that he said nothing! She at least showed shock and concern about it and took the plate to the kitchen. If you have video recording in your restaurant, you can watch it between 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM pacific time - we were the only 2 people dining at the bar. Afterwards, not a single server/staff came to talk to us and let alone apologized or shared how the matter was being handled. We sat there for a couple of minutes with what seemed like the staff ignoring us as if we had done something wrong. We asked for the check and were just told that they were giving a 10% discount (we were not looking to get a discount but rather make sure measures were going to be implemented so that it doesn't happen again). Also, it is a health & safety concern that needs to be addressed to all the staff handling food.
