Business is fraudulently asking patients to sign consent for payment larger than amount charged under insurance agreements. Then they do not give bills in a timely manner and threaten to send accounts into collections if they don't receive payment overnight. Their billing office representative *******, is not helpful and rude. Business practices are not legal and breaking contract and agreement in place with insurance companies.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/06) */ Contact Name and Title: *************** /BILLING Contact Phone: *********** Contact Email: ******************** In response to **. *************** complaint. The patient signed on the day of surgery a separate insurance policy where it states that if the payor/insurance does not pay more than $3K for said surgery she will be responsible up to that amount. Insurance paid $962.11 leaving her responsible to pay $2,037.89 of which she paid by credit card on 8/19/2022. Please note that the patient had a lifetime max policy through insurance of $15K which was maxed out. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/09/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Business response does not respond to timelines, threats or the fact that they are asking patients to sign contract that is unethical. Additionally, business did not advise patient that even though doctor was in network- the business is considered out of network. Business also does not respond to the fact that their office member, *******, threatened patient with sending patients information into collections - so much so that patient paid bill out of fear for retaliation. Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2022/10/04) */ To whom it may concern: I am the billing and collection office for Beverly Sunset Surgical Associates, LLC (thereafter the Center) and communicated via-phone with **.****************. Our office is asking that the BBB reopen case ******* in lieu of the fact that the case was closed and unresolved. According to BBB a rebuttal letter was sent the Center, however we never received it otherwise I would have replied immediately. **. ******* is claiming that the Center threatened her and are asking patients to sign a contract and feels that it is unethical. Moreover, she is stating that our business the Center is not advising patients that we are out-of-network. It is to be noted that the Center does not threaten patients at any time and she was well aware that the Center was not in-network and that is why on the day of surgery she signed the Insurance Policy. The Insurance Policy clearly states that she would be responsible up to $3,000.00 if her insurance did not pay up to that amount. In addition her doctor's office prior to surgery explained in detail the insurance benefits and explained that the doctor was in-network and the Center was not. Following insurance payment in the amount of $962.11 several statements were sent to **. ******* and finally she paid her balance in full. Once again the Insurance Policy she signed clearly states that she is responsible to pay Beverly Sunset Surgical Associates, LLC (the Center) any and all remaining balance, up to the minimum required amount, in the event that insurance reimbursement for the procedure performed on the above date of service does not satisfy the minimum required amount. I have attached the documents for your review. Thank you for your time in this matter and the Center as well as myself wait for your response. Regards, ***************
