Paver put in in November 2021 finish and had issues at that time. During 2021 installation heavy rain came and washed the material that is supposed to adhere to the pavers. There where also design issues. He was suppose to design so that I could put a car on the other side where there is a driveway. It was not angled correctly and cannot drive car to other side. He stated that he did what I asked. *** stated that it was not a problem for the pavers with the rain. Now in 2022/2023 when heavy rains hit the pavers starting sinking and right after rain you could actually move them just by standing on them. Please see all emails and 2021 pictures showing all the material that washed out and 2023 pictures.I am concerned to have him fix the issues. It looks like there was no thought about drainage, spacing of pavers or anything else. It was a though the company just wanted to get in and out. The workers were disgruntled and complaining about the owner and I asked them to not talk with me about it for it made me not comfortable. So did the crew not have their heart in the job??? Owner did not seemed concerned about the work or fixing anything I asked. They just came in in 2021 and filled in areas with very little fill from all that washed away and he said he would have it sealed and said it did not need to be sealed. I did not want him coming back so I said no. if it did not need sealing and it was only for look. I was done with company and now 2022/2023 it all failed. I have appointment with ***'s Yard Design Jan 27, 2023. I want BBB support in making sure this consumer is taken care of in a timely manner and with good results.Initial Complaint

I hired Guys Yard Design **** in 9/21 to do two projects. The front yard, I was sharing the cost with my neighbor and Guy knew them well. That job was completed.The second job was to put pavers in my backyard. 9/29/21 (see supporting documentation) I gave Guy a $1000 deposit towards the $3100 back yard job for the pavers. It was cashed 10/5/21. My printer was broke at the time so Guy brought me the contract to sign. I asked him to mail me a copy of the contract but I never received it.12/16/21 I left Guy a message asking when he thought he would be able to do the work. I did not get a response.12/22/21 I left another message saying I would like to get my deposit back or I would go to small claims court.****, who works for Guy, called me back, same day. She told me I had been informed it would take up to 12 weeks. I told her it had been 12 weeks. She told me they do not give refunds on deposits and if I wanted I could have the pavers delivered to my house. I asked her when they would be doing to job. She said the soonest would be Feb. 2022 and she would update me monthly. I never received an update.2/16/22 I texted Guy. See supporting documentation. He called me right back and said they were just talking about my yard and it would be done "next week."3/9/22 I texted Guy. See supporting documentation. **** called me back and said "Your pavers came in." I thought they got those in December? Anyway, she said my job was "next." She said they were finishing another job and my yard would be done "next week."3/17/22 I am getting the run around. Hello,
My name is *** and I am the office Manager for Guys Yard Design. I am responding on behalf of Guys Yard design for the complaint made against us on March 17th, 2022. The ** assigned to this complaint is 16906908.
As our client mentioned this project is the second project we are doing for her. As a very busy small business our wait times are normally a few months out to get a project started. We always try our very best to accommodate clients to sooner start dates to their projects when we are able to. Our clients first project we were able to to start sooner than the estimates start date but our client stated she did not like the short notice of the start date even though we were trying to do her a favor and complete her project sooner.
That being said the second project our client is making the complaint about she requested her project to be scheduled out since she did not appreciate the short notice of squeezing her project in our schedule like we did the first time. As a result of her request to schedule her project out, we strongly feel this complaint is an error or at minimum inappropriate.
The second reason she has been waiting for her project to be completed is due to the type of material she chose for her project, pavers. Our Pavers are custom made to order, the standard wait time for those pavers to be made is roughly 12 weeks. The specific paver our client chose was delayed in production. Another client of ours that also signed a contract in October, that also chose the same exact paver as this client that made the complaint barely had their project completed in the beginning of March 2022. This client was not the only one affected by the production delay in pavers.
This has all been explained to the client via phone calls. The client is requesting a refund for her deposit check. This clients deposit check was used to order the pavers for her project that we have at our shop.
Guys Yard Design is more than happy to deliver the pavers to this clients home, or we can complete this project as originally planned.Thank you for choosing Guys Yard Design, Inc,
