I contacted Mile High Locksmith on the night of June 7, 2024. I had been locked out of my house, which had one door with a regular deadbolt and another with a double cylinder deadbolt (uses key on both sides). I had broken the window of the door with the regular deadbolt so that I could reach in and unlock the deadbolt, so it was very important to me to have a double cylinder (keyed on both sides) installed on that door because it was very easy to get into my house while I waited to have the window repaired. I also requested that the double cylinder lock on the other door be replaced. They would not give me a quote for this in advance, ignoring my text requesting one. When the locksmith arrived, he claimed he didn't have the double cylinder lock at that hour of the night even though I had informed them this is what I needed. He didn't inform me of this until after he saw the broken window allowing access to the deadbolt and confirmed I wouldn't be getting it fixed that night. He then installed a regular deadbolt on the backdoor, which I saw came with two keys attached to each other on the key ring. He sneakily took one of the keys off and put it in his pocket, and then handed me only one. I asked him for both keys and he said he couldn't give me the second because he needed it to install a lock on someone else's house. This made no sense because it had come with the lock he just installed on my door. He got pretty aggressive when I insisted on having the second key, so I became too scared to insist further (this was around midnight in my house alone, and I am a small female). When it came time to pay, he gave me the venmo address for some random man (not a business account). When I asked why it wasn't a business account, he again got aggressive and said this was just temporary. Again, because I feared for my safety, I just paid him so he would leave. I contacted the police after and they said it was likely he kept the key to later rob my house

I'm really suspicious of this company after last night's experience.I was told that there would be labor involved with getting help getting me into my apartment, which is fine. But I find it weird that their payment transactions are purely Zelle, Venmo, and Cashapp. And they wanted $350 after the fact and I only had $100 on me. The wife sat in their van and the guy wouldn't leave my apartment until I had to call their services (which isn't even in ******) to argue with them about it.It made me extremely uncomfortable, I didn't feel safe, and it just came off incredibly suspicious. I'm a single woman living by myself, I don't like the fact this man just sat in my home that I just moved into. For context, the maintenance on site told me to call a locksmith. The tech was a nice guy and so was his wife at first, but I never got any type of itemized receipt of where he came up with $350 and he only told me after he was done I could have easily done this myself or had family change out the lock if all he was going to do was get a drill bit big enough and break it ourselves.I came very close to even calling the police to have this man get out of my unit. I told him I'd work out something with the additional $250 but after some consideration (largely because he didn't leave and sat in my apartment and thought I could just somehow call someone up at 11pm and ask my elderly father for the money.I'm going to contest all of this. I want a payment breakdown and I didn't get this except a massive invasion of privacy. Now there's a strange man out there who has a duplicate key to my apart, knows my personal information, and I don't feel safe.

      Hi,

Upon checking the breakdown of the charge is $29 service call or trip charge plus $71 for the labor to unlock customer's apartment. This was 9:30 pm of May 18, 2024 which is considered an emergency call.
The charges where valid and appropriate since this was within the price range we have and the technician will provide the best price once on site.

      Thank you.

This is a scam company. They pretend to be local and say their offices "are closed for renovations." they have disabled reviews. They claim to be a "locksmith" but they aren't. they are door k*** salesmen at best. I was told they couldn't re-key a deadbolt which is completely untrue. I was then sold a cheap lock set (available on amazon for $49) for $200. The website has reviews disabled. They are taking advantage of people.

Upon checking with our technician , the customer was informed that he can't rekey the lock without a key , so he offered her a new lock set with key , customer agreed and the ********************** proceeded to do the job. This is the message of the technician that went to customer's location,

"I gave her the bill b4 I started to work
I told her I can't rekey the locks she got without a key
so if she wants I can sell her a new lock and then she
decided she wants the keypads locks I sold her 2 of those
and 2 new door k**** and rekeyed them to be the same key
So I don't know why she is complaining right now
Gave her 3 year warranty "

We then tried to call the customer but not answering.

I am rejecting this response because:

I am a business owner and am on my phone at all times.  I have received no calls, texts, mesages or voicemails.

This is a scam company and I have reported them to google.  They claim to be local and they are not.  I contacted a real locksmith and was told that deadbolts absolutely can be re-keyed without an existing key.  So I was given innacurate information in order to make the sale of very expensive (yet cheap) door locks.  These locks are $35 on amazon and I was charged $800 for two along with the service call.

This company does this a lot, there are many one start reviews on their page but somehow no more can be left.

      Sincerely,

**This company lies and does not return calls**Not sure how they have 4.9 stars. I tried to get my remotes programmed. They told me they didn't work. I should have known this was going to be a SCAM. So they brought me out the same two remotes. Well, I thought they were the same. I wasn't quoted a price for service call or the remotes. The guy shows up late and program's his remotes then hands them to me. Leaves immediately after. So I check the remotes and tried to remote start my car. There is no button for the remote start. I call back and explain the situation. They advised me that "I was wrong and I had the right remote. They do not program aftermarket remotes". After which I tell them no my remote start is factory. It took 2 phone calls. I asked for a supervisor which took me calling again to get that. The supervisor ordered the remotes incorrectly 3 times. Did not bother to open the package to make sure they were correct. I was stood up 4 times because he was busy. Come to find out 3 weeks later he switched jobs. That should tell you something. I then called another 3 times asking for another supervisor or manager in which they told me my request would be forwarded. This is because they were in meetings. A week later they are still in meetings no call back. I've been waiting since Jan 19th for my correct remotes. I was charged 250 dollars and they refuse to give me a refund. Multiple calls and getting the wrong product has me upset. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY EVEN HUNG UP ON ME.

      Hi,

After careful review of the circumstances surrounding the transaction, we would like to provide our perspective on the matter.

Let's clarify that the sale was completed and the key that the customer is requesting differs from the one we sold him. We cannot exchange the key at no charge or issue a refund because the customer received a working key fob for his car, and both the service and sale have been finalized.

      Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: It is not the correct key fobs for my vehicle. I was given a generic key fob, not the actual key fob I showed the technician. I have attached my actual vehicles key fob. I was not given this key fob. You can't just give a customer whatever key fob you want then leave followed by saying you will order the right one and never do it. Your Manager even said it was the wrong key fob.

      Sincerely,

I needed a new key fob for my car. The locksmith came and made my key/fob replacement, telling me the key might not work because the battery probably needed to be replaced, so I should go buy a new battery for it. He was right - it didn't work. I was annoyed but went and purchased a new battery. This activated the key, however the key is severely dysfunctional: it takes many clicks for the lock/unlock button work and now whenever another person is in the passenger seat and exits the car it sets the car alarm system off. Additionally, the original/working key fob now doesn't work - it seems like the technician deactivated it (?). I have now called a total of six times asking for a key that works or a refund. Each time they tell me the technician will call me (he never has). They've also had me schedule a time for the technician to come and fix it, but he did not show up. At this point I have two dysfunctional car keys (the original one and the new one). I need help resolving this issue as the company has proven to be unresponsive.

I needed a new fob with a remote start. They sent ********* out who said we have to order the parts. So fine. Two weeks go by and nothing is to be heard. So I called again and they send someone out who failed to inform me that the fob does not have remote start. The took my money anyway and failed to uphold their end of a remote start. I tried to contact the company and have been rudely ignored and lied to again about what I requested and why it did not happen.

      Hi,

Upon checking , we have created a discounted key for her car, priced at $119. This price is already the lowest we can offer for the key. It's important to note that this does not include an aftermarket alarm system. The reason for this exclusion is that our services do not extend to the installation or repair of alarms not produced by the car's original manufacturer.

      Thank you

On 4-20-22 my partner ********************************* called Mile high locksmith to install combo locks on front and back door of rental property we own. One of Airbnb make copies of keys. After i got home from business till found out the pricing for replacement/ install at tune of $1711.79. Charged $499.99 for each lock. Theses locks are available on amazon for $222 . The locksmith took advantage of my spouse with stress from someone making other keys and threats. Ive reached out to MileHigh Locksmith via email twice. They havent reply back. They over charged us $300-400 for scope of work.

      Hi,

All the prices are clearly on the estimate and they agreed before working on it, if you get a locksmith there is going to be a markup for labor trip charge and parts and we give them all upfront before doing the job, he could have also declined and order the locks and do the jobs himself.

      Thank you.
