Entered online sweepstakes for the Meier ********************* Ski giveaway($795.00 value) expiring 2/15/24. I was contacted by Meier on 2/16/24 notifying me that I was chosen as the winner of that sweepstakes. On 2/22/24 Meier sent a invoice for $40 for shipping charge for cost of shipping prize. Payment was made on that date via Master Charge. 2/22/24 Meier contacted me to say they were out of my size and should have them in next week. On 3/2/24 was contacted by Meier via email stating that they found a anomaly with your sweepstakes ********* was dis-qualified due to use of a automatic sweepstakes entry service.I did not or have never used a automatic sweepstakes service. I use various sites to find sweepstakes I'm interested in (i.e. Sweepstakes Advantage, Sweepstakes ****** ** ********************** I do not pay for any of these services. I use ****** Chrome as my search engine & as with most search pages they remember your log in & contact information if you like for future use, which I use. I explain all this to Meier via ************* reply was It's simply that we have determined you as ineligible as per our rules". I then asked to please explain the rule(s) that I violated since the sweepstakes page/rules for the sweepstakes have been remove from their site. Received no response.Business response

This complaint is not from a customer as we do not have a ***** from him. He is upset he was disqualified from a free ski giveaway. An alternate winner has been selected and notified. Pertinent rules include:
"Drawings: One winner will be selected in a random drawing conducted from among all eligible entries received, by Meier LLC, whose decisions in all matters relating to this sweepstakes are final.
The use of an agency or any automated system to enter is strictly prohibited and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries received through such methods, as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.
Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. "Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: I have no idea what they're talking about using an agency or automated entry service. If the sweepstakes was a one time entry, I entered it one time or if if was daily etc. I would have not gone this route if they had the decency to explain all this to me in the first place. They just were rude and said this is what we decided.

I just wanted to add: You would think Meier would have checked to see if I was eligible to be the winner before notifying me. 17 days later they tell that I cheated or whatever their claim is.
I contacted them within their timeline & paid the $40.00 shipping( REFUNDED), then they said size was out of stock and would be a week to make. Then all of a sudden I'm disqualified, something just didn't seem right to me.
Anytime I enter an online contest I push the buttons on the keyboard. I Do Not use a service to enter for me!
I feel I just cheated out of a prize without a explanation.
